There are small and large auxiliary cruisers used by most Alpha Octant empires; there is a Ship Card for the small version in Communiqué #68, and the large one in Communiqué #70.
One notable case is the WYNs, who use more extensive conversions when building their "aux boxes" - but at the price of not being able to send these heavily-modified vessels out through the Cluster's radiation shell. (Those ships are found in FC: Distant Kingdoms and FC: Hydran Attack.)
One good way to see which ship is in which source is with the various Master Ship Chart PDFs; the main one tends to get updated after each issue of Captain's Log is published. (In general, the FC Commander's Circle is a handy resource to make use of.)

Sean, I like those unique ship situations, too. I am also interested in small ship scenarios.

Fed ship card pack #3 includes a scenario. These were the special rules ... until Jean deleted them. I thought players might like to try them.
1. Surprise: The speed of the Federation attack upset the dining schedule for the Klingon battle station’s crew, so the Klingon player should not eat for at least four hours before the scenario. He may start eating during the scenario, but only food that can be eaten with one hand and no utensils.
2. Furious Attack: The Federation player should drink two cans of Red Bull immediately before playing the scenario..

Since this thread is about scenarios, here's a question that came up on the Solitaire Wargaming section at Facebook:
How many solitaire scenarios are there for Federation Commander?
People have posted that they are thinking about or have thought about purchasing Federation Commander, but they are already envisioning having to play solo for most of their gaming experience. They want to know how easily the game can be played solo and about the resources to do that.
I know some of this info, but I wanted input from ADB and other gamers before trying to respond.
