I got mine last night, and I look forward to your next release for the Klingons. This is a great idea.

Ah! So there is!

By Michael Bennett (Mike) on Friday, October 22, 2010 - 11:23 pm: Edit

It would be nice to know the title of the new scenarios in these ship packs and perhaps a blurb describing what they are about.

By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Friday, October 22, 2010 - 11:32 pm: Edit

Michael, the title of the scenario is on the cover of the pack.

By Michael Bennett (Mike) on Saturday, October 23, 2010 - 12:30 pm: Edit

Hmmm... Color me stupid, but I saw no image of the cover of the pack at the e23 site on sjgames.

By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Saturday, October 23, 2010 - 12:48 pm: Edit

Did you click through to the main entry? http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=ADB4805

By Michael Bennett (Mike) on Sunday, October 24, 2010 - 09:13 pm: Edit

I clicked on the link you provided. No cover, no scenario name.

By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Sunday, October 24, 2010 - 11:33 pm: Edit

Ummm, I just tried again and it is there off to the right.

Anybody else having trouble seeing the cover?

By Terry O'Carroll (Terryoc) on Monday, October 25, 2010 - 01:46 am: Edit

Nope, I got no problems.

By Mike West (Mjwest) on Monday, October 25, 2010 - 10:40 am: Edit

Remember that the cover is an image. If your browser is not rendering images correctly, you won't see it.

But, yes, the page worked just dandy for me, too.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Monday, October 25, 2010 - 01:31 pm: Edit

The scenario in the Fed book is the one from Comm 59, Decapitation. It's a battle plan by a Fed admiral (based on reports that the Klingons had a few really hot captains that they moved around, something Star Fleet Intelligence came up with). the plan was the target one massive volley on the Klingon flagship, ignoring all other Klingon actions and Fed losses, in order to kill these "hot captains".

By Michael Bennett (Mike) on Monday, October 25, 2010 - 08:45 pm: Edit

Okay, thanks.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Monday, October 25, 2010 - 09:14 pm: Edit

I just sent Kzinti pack #1 to Leanna and Jean made me do Gorn Pack #1 and send it to her to check.

By ART TROTMAN (Drneuro) on Monday, October 25, 2010 - 10:07 pm: Edit

SVC-can you state what ships will be in those two packs? I need to know if I should budget some funds for those two packs, and this would depend on if I need any of the ships offered. I am sure that I will be picking up at least one of these. :)

By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Monday, October 25, 2010 - 11:12 pm: Edit

Kzinti: Dreadnought
Heavy Battlecruiser
Command Cruiser
Battlecruiser
Light Cruiser
Frigate

Gorn: DREADNOUGHT
HEAVY BATTLECRUISER
COMMAND CRUISER
BATTLECRUISER
LIGHT CRUISER
DESTROYER

Each has a scenario and counters.

By ART TROTMAN (Drneuro) on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 - 02:37 am: Edit

Jean, thanks!

SVC: typo alert:! That Decapitation scenario is not in Comm 47 (Nov 2009). In fact, it's in #59 (Nov 2010)!

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 - 11:16 am: Edit

Thanks, Art, I'll fix that.

By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 - 03:33 pm: Edit

Enter the cats! The Kzinti Ship Pack #1 is on e23.

* The Dreadnought
* Heavy Battlecruiser
* Command Cruiser
* Battlecruiser
* Light Cruiser
* Frigate

These ships are presented in high resolution. Also included are graphics for counters and the scenario Showdown at Grimrock, where Kzinti and Klingon ships clash in space while Klingon and Kzinti Marines clash on the planet below!

Attention Federation Commander players and Omega fans! The FC Omega playtest book is up on e23. Topics will be opened on the Forum and the BBS for reporting your results. Kudos to Gary Carney and Richard Smith for getting this up!

http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=ADB4809

BEYOND THE VOID LIES ... OMEGA!

On the far side of the ISC is the impenetrable Galactic Void, a dead zone in which no ship can survive. Beyond that void lies the Omega Sector, a wild and warlike area where two dozen empires battle for survival with new ships and new weapons. These empires and ships have previously been presented for Star Fleet Battles (in a series of five modules) and now, this playtest pack makes five of those empires available for testing under the Federation Commander game system.

The rules are not proofread and need testing. Reports should be made on either the BBS or the Forum, for use in developing a formal product. Some "art" is not included in this playtest package.

Included here are rules for a dozen new weapons, background for five of the empires, and two typical ships each for the Mæsron Alliance, Trobrin Empire, and Probr Revolution and one ship each for the Iridani Questors and the Federal Republic of Aurora. (Each ship is presented in Squadron Scale, and in both full color and low-toner versions.)

The Gorns are coming! The Gorns are coming! Wait! They are here! Gorn Ship Card Pack #1 is out with a scenario and counters. Check it out on e23.

http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=ADB4808

Six more full-color ship cards for Federation Commander, this time from the Gorn Confederation. Included are the:

* Dreadnought (DN)
* Heavy Battlecruiser (BCH)
* Command Cruiser (CC)
* Battlecruiser (BC)
* Light Cruiser (CL)
* Destroyer (DD)

Also included is Scenario 8C9 My Brother My Enemy (in which a planet of mind-controlling plants take over a Gorn ship and attack another Gorn ship) and graphics for the counters needed by these ships.

Woooohoooo! The Federation Commander Reference Rulebook is up on e23. Check it out here: http://e23.sjgames.com/item.html?id=ADB4020

The most requested Federation Commander product, the Reference Rulebook is the complete rulebook players have demanded.

This is the complete rulebook, with all of the rules from Klingon Border, Klingon Attack, Romulan Border, Romulan Attack, Tholian Attack, Booster Zero, Battleships Attack, Communique, Distant Kingdoms, Orion Attack, and Captain's Log. This includes all of the RULES with all of the updates, revisions, examples, expansions, corrections ... all of it!

This is a RULE book and does not include scenarios or ship descriptions. It's just the rules, ma'am. But it is ALL OF THE RULES, in one book, in order, front to back, with everything added, inserted, edited into the rules, and rewritten to clarify the rules and make them high and tight, ready for battle. (The term "master" is used only for one of our other product lines, but if you were looking for an FC Master Rulebook, this would be it.) We will continually update this PDF as new rules (and rulings) are added; the next update (including War & Peace) is scheduled for January. (There is no reason to wait for it, since that update will be free. You can have a searchable PDF rulebook NOW!)

Is it permitted to use the counter images to create situation reports for Play-By-Email games? I actually did that and posted the map on the other board, but it suddenly occurred to me that it may not be kosher.

If it is OK, I'd like to say that using the e23 files for PBEM is really easy. To make the PBEM version of a ship card, you just cut the middle bit out of the card (leaving off the turn mode and other data that is not on the PBEM ship cards) and paste in the copyright notice at the bottom. And the electronic counters work well on the PDF hexmap that you can download from the site.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Saturday, November 13, 2010 - 12:00 pm: Edit

Yes, it is permitted to use the countersheet art for situation reports. There are jpg versions of those in the art gallery.

By Gary Carney (Nerroth) on Saturday, December 11, 2010 - 04:00 pm: Edit

I finally figured out how to check the popularity of each e23 download; I have to say, I was surprised to see how high up a certain entry is.

Not that I'm complaining, of course!
