I'm compelled to amend my thoughts on wildlife. I'm not keen on sharks. In fact, they scare me a little. They scare me a lot if I'm in the water.
Actually, I don't care for any of the aquatic predators. Though octopi are cool, but scary.

Caught a story, scientists using depth/fish finder, thought they located a 50ft Megaladon ....
Turned out it was a school of fish, just swimming in a pattern the tech picked up...

As they called it "A Red Herring"......

Octopi are freaking awesome! I just wish they weren't consigned to death just for reproducing. It would be pretty cool to see what they could do if they could live longer and learn more.

I'd still like to get SVC & SPP opinion about military working dogs in Star Fleet. I do thank everyone for their thoughts on the idea. Thanks!!

I was working on a Vulcan name, I read somewhere (the Internet) that starting with an SP and ending in a K was very TOS. So I started with:
Spork, Sputnik, Spick, Spook, Speck, Speak, Spark, and Spank.
I think I'll move away from the SP and K's. Also, no more dictionary interference. It's time to get creative.
Spirk? A little Doc Spock and my uncle, Kirk?
No, must find my inner Lama, as in Dalai Lama:
Sallad, no that's my middle name spelled backwards. my first name is Fehc, BTW.
I turned to vulcanism, discovered that the Sabancaya volcano erupted in Peru in 2017.
Truncating the name I got: Saban.
Original? no. Creative? no. Do I like it? yes.
Saban the Vulcan, it even rhymes.
I beg indulgence and forgiveness for such a random posting. Peace out.

I have four Vulcans listed in the ship's roster for the fiction I'm working on: Stoan, Sovan, Sunal, and Jenna. Sr Chief Stoan is a primary character, the others will appear from time to time. Jenna is a sensor operator and thus might get more "air time". She was born and raised on Earth because her parents worked at the Vulcan embassy, so she's not your typical Vulcan.

Another idea might be to look over the names of the various Vulcan National Guard ships listed in the Federation Master Starship Book.

While not all of them need necessarily be named after individual Vulcans, they might be a useful point of reference nonetheless.

Ooooh. Gary, I like that idea. Is that the only source, or has that list been copied into the Ship Registry file online??

Not that I'm aware of, but they should be in the individual rulebooks for the three SFB Y-modules.

From the Master Starship Book:

WVCC: Sagavok, Sarpedon
WVSR: T'Poran, T'Lingan
