Looking for SFB opponents

Star Fleet Universe Discussion Board: Seeking Opponents: Looking for SFB opponents
What is Starlist?
Starlist is a list of players who have over the years contacted ADB to either order product or to locate opponents in their local area. ADB offers as a service to players the ability to obtain a list of players in their area by submitting their contact information to the database using the form below.

Everything has to be in all caps except the Email address (which should be in whatever case it really is). There is no punctuation anywhere (the Post Office doesn't like it) except the comma after your last name. If you don't have an apartment number, skip it. If you don't live in the US, add your country and postal code in the appropriate format. This list is sent free to gamers in your area, stores with in-house gaming, and local conventions. It is never used for commercial mailings and you are not to use it for this. You will often find former SFB players who lost their regular opponents and would start playing if they had a new one (i.e., you).

This is an opt-in list, and by submitting the information requested you desire to be contacted for the purposes stated above. You must be 13 or older to use Starlist unless accompanied by a parent or guardian. Starfleetgames.com respects the privacy of our young captains in training.

Any Tournament player in the Asheville NC area?

By Frank Lemay (Princeton) on Saturday, May 14, 2022 - 12:40 pm: Edit

Above & Beyond East [ABE] and Above and Beyond West [ABW] has a vacancy in each campaign.
ABE needs a Romulan Admiral and ABW needs a Lyran Admiral.

ABE is currently fighting out battles for T12 [Roms have 4 battles to resolve] and ABW just finished T11 and about to submit T12 orders.

Please note AB is a play test campaign. With input from the Admirals and onlookers, the rules are shaping up to be quite nice !!

Once AB has run its course [hoping to get 25-30 turns in !], I will launch the Time Wars campaign applying the AB final rules set.

Both campaigns[ABE and ABW] were started back in Nov of 2020.

Be prepared for a lot of battles as the rules do not allow for an easy escape.
We do have a stable of captains for hire should RL happen.

If interested, please ping me at my email.

Thanks.
Frank

Howdy! I'm basically starting from scratch after a 25-year gap in playing. In/around Santa Fe, NM, but willing to try SFBOL.

Hi Rob,
SFBOL is a great venue to play SFB.
There are tourneys and a couple of campaigns on the go. I run one myself and I have seen a couple of private campaigns.

You can save your game if you do not get it done in 1 session.

The interface is a bit tricky but after a couple of sessions, it should blend in nicely.

Best part, SFBOL offers a 3 month subscription to see if it is your cup of tea.

Hope to see you around.

Cheers
Frank

Thanks Frank! I think I'll sign up for SFBOL for the holiday break. Nothing says "Happy Thanksgiving/Happy Hanukkah/Merry Christmas/Happy New Year" like a good ol' fashioned phaser fight.

Looking for opponents in the San Diego and Temecula area of California. Also interested in players for a small scale and semi frequent SFB campaign. Happy to elaborate on request.

Any takers to either of the above? please contact me.

Unfortunately, I don't do Facebook. But I have added myself to the Starlist which may help.

That's a post with a link to a Google map. I can't get the map link to pull up today but will hop on my PC tomorrow and share it.

The Google Maps link says I do not have access...

We'll see if someone gives me access.

That's the problem I was having last night, too. It's never done that before. There's also a map of battle groups.

By Robert Russell Lender (Rusman) on Saturday, November 26, 2022 - 08:27 pm: Edit

That link doesn't point to anything. I'd guess it's an incomplete link. Can you recheck it?

By Ginger McMurray (Gingermcmurray) on Saturday, November 26, 2022 - 09:17 pm: Edit

There was an errant "m" in front.

try this

By Robert Russell Lender (Rusman) on Saturday, November 26, 2022 - 09:42 pm: Edit

That works. Unfortunately, there are clearly not as many people on that map as their actually are who play SFB. I know of at least four more in just the San Diego area alone. But all I show is the San Diego Battlegroup with myself and two others in it. And given how many people post to the discussion board, I find it hard to believe that across that Google map there aren't more groups and people in the groups as the map shows.

By Ginger McMurray (Gingermcmurray) on Saturday, November 26, 2022 - 10:02 pm: Edit

There absolutely are more people who play than are on the map. People have to be added. It's not magical. Unfortunately.

Does anyone know how to reach Jeremy Gray? I was trying to reach him for his opinion on something but the Email address I have for him must be out of date.

Does anyone know of any Houston, Austin, or College Station-area groups or players?

For anyone in the NE Ohio area - we just created a new Facebook Group for arranging face-to-face meetups here - primarily Star Fleet Battles, but I'm sure anything SFU may work!
