Kenny - Understanding that you are traveling this month, where are you when not traveling?

By Kenny Bruce (Lt_Bruce) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 07:50 am: Edit

That would be GMT -5. I live in Ecuador, South America (thats why theres no possibility of a ftf game) but this month I'm in the States. Since the East Coast is almost directly north of Ecuador, there is very little time zone change. I have good internet access in Ecuador as well, so a game would not end when I return.

By John Robinson (John_R) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 08:46 am: Edit

Ah. Sorry about that. I knew GMT was East Coast US, but is was expecting an answer anywhere between Florida and Maine!

By Kenny Bruce (Lt_Bruce) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 09:06 am: Edit

I do live in a kind of unusual location. =)

By Mike Curtis (Nashvillen) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 10:15 am: Edit

John, the Eastern time zone is GMT-6. GMT is England and other areas on the Prime Meridian.

By John Robinson (John_R) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 10:49 am: Edit

I know all that. I left the -5 of the GMT. I am a private pilot and all our flight plans have to be filed in zulu (GMT) time. It gets confusing when we go to daylight saving time and we are at GMT-4 as versus GMT-5 on standard time.

Then of course you add in that Britain goes to BST and gets off of GMT by an hour and I end up with more of a headache than trying to keep up with time travel paradoxes and temporal mechanics!

I just was thinking very North American, not expecting that there might be a South American SFU contingent.

By Mike Curtis (Nashvillen) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 01:14 pm: Edit

Sorry, I didn't know about your pilot's license.

By John Robinson (John_R) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 01:44 pm: Edit

No problem. I'll let you let me capture Romulus next week and call it even :) I realized that I had forgotten the -5 thing after reading your post, which made my original post sound like I had no clue about it.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 01:44 pm: Edit

In the military, each time zone has a designation. GMT-6 is Sierra.

By Mike Curtis (Nashvillen) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 02:26 pm: Edit

John, that will be kind of hard since you are playing in another game...

By John Robinson (John_R) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 04:06 pm: Edit

Details, details.....

I will let my alternate universe Fed player take the glory

By Joe Stevenson (Alligator) on Friday, June 29, 2007 - 06:52 pm: Edit

John,

As the Romulan commander, I can assure you "we are quite safe from your friends here"

By Bill Schoeller (Bigbadbill) on Tuesday, July 17, 2007 - 09:13 pm: Edit

Peter -

I play F&E (am in East Wind) and I live in Strongsville (about 30 minutes SW of Cleveland)

By Nick G. Blank (Nickgb) on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 04:54 pm: Edit

I am about an hour SW of Cleveland (Oberlin/Wellington area).

By Joe Stevenson (Alligator) on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 07:41 pm: Edit

Nick!!

Are you going to PLAY?!?!

By Nick G. Blank (Nickgb) on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 07:57 pm: Edit

I don't know. I have no place to keep the board set up. (I have two LSMs for some reason though....). :)

By Daniel G. Knipfer (Dgknipfer) on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 10:33 pm: Edit

Just send them to me, Nick. I'll take good care of them. :) Say, do half the F&E players on the board live in Ohio or Tenn?

As always, looking for players in the Xenia, Dayton, Cinci, Columbus Ohio area.

By Bill Schoeller (Bigbadbill) on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 10:45 pm: Edit

Nick - Looking at 1 Main street in Oberlin to my house in Strongsville is 21 miles, 31 minutes according to mapquest.

We can set up the map on my pool table in the basement where the kids can not get at it.

By Mike Curtis (Nashvillen) on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 10:45 pm: Edit

We just need to meet in Louisville.

By Tony L Thomas (Scoutdad) on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 - 11:07 pm: Edit

Actually, only 48% of them live in Tenn... but then again, only 45% live in Ohio... so we still win!
