Hey Ed. I live up in Celina. It's a good 45 min to an hour to Garland, but at least I'm sort of vaguely in the area.

I'm always up for Vassal or Cyberboard play over Skype.

Well, when Mike Parker was able to come up here, he did the 5 hour drive between Houston and far north Dallas. Would stay for the whole weekend. It was awesome.

Miss those days...

How is Mike doing? The last I heard was he was having some health issues?

By Ted Fay (Catwhoeatsphoto) on Friday, July 03, 2015 - 05:51 pm: Edit

I don't know. His facebook page is active, but he has ignored all of my emails and attempts to contact him.

Looking for a patient expert to teach me F&E via Vassal. Local opponents are non existent.

I have more than a passing familiarity with chit wargames. F&E is just giving me a hard time trying to learn it by myself.

I was hoping for 2 to 3 sessions a month of 2 to 4 hours each. Not a huge commitment. I feel like once I turn a corner and grasp the basics the rest won't be so scary.

Also I would be glad to donate some money for your time. 10 to 15 bucks a month. chrismata@gmail.com if you can help me.

Dayton/Xenia/Columbus/Cincinnati players;

We will be starting a new F&E Early Beginnings game in late September. Initial set-up day will probably be the Saturday the 26th. Interested parties should contact me at deepspacefleet@aol.com if you would like to join.

We play once a month at my house, where we can leave the game set up full time. Come on out, we have a blast and are always up for teaching new players.

Too long a commute for us Floridians, alas.

Which city, Dan? I live in Fort Wayne, Indiana.

By Roger Rardain (Sky_Captain) on Wednesday, September 02, 2015 - 02:29 pm: Edit

Dan is located in Xenia - Ohio's "Windy City".

By Randy Blair (Randyblair) on Wednesday, September 02, 2015 - 05:06 pm: Edit

I just drove by there yesterday...it's only two hours away from me as the crow flies.
Are we talking about doing the four powers war?

By Roger Rardain (Sky_Captain) on Wednesday, September 02, 2015 - 07:18 pm: Edit

No, we're going to play Early Beginnings.

By Daniel Glenn Knipfer (Dgknipfer) on Thursday, September 03, 2015 - 12:53 pm: Edit

Randy,

As Roger said, we play in Xenia, just east of Dayton on US 35. Ft Wayne is a bit far, but if you're willing to suffer the drive we would be glad to welcome you.

We will be playing a version of Early beginnings. It's kind of like Star Craft for F&E.

Edit: Due to scheduling at this end, we will probably be starting on the 19th. However, due to the unique nature of Early Beginnings a player could miss the first game session and catch up. After all, you are building your own empire.

By Randy Blair (Randyblair) on Thursday, September 03, 2015 - 01:37 pm: Edit

Sounds good to me.

I need to get out of the house more anyway.

Looking to start up an online F&E game. Preferably using Vassal as I think I mostly have it figured out.

By Lee Hanna (Lee) on Thursday, May 05, 2016 - 09:54 pm: Edit

Looking for a PBEM F&E game. Vassal or Cyberboard. I'm up for either a team game or a single-front/single-sector small game.

By Ryan Opel (Ryan) on Friday, May 06, 2016 - 12:58 am: Edit

Lee,

I might be interested. Send me an email.

Ryan

By Randy Blair (Randyblair) on Friday, May 06, 2016 - 08:52 am: Edit

Lee, I think we need a hydran player for AFD.

By Lee Hanna (Lee) on Friday, May 06, 2016 - 10:38 am: Edit

Randy, let me see if I can thrash something out with Ryan first. I will peek at AFD, see if that interests me.

By Richard B. Eitzen (Rbeitzen) on Friday, May 06, 2016 - 11:50 am: Edit

AFD is currently starting A9.

By Peter Bakija (Bakija) on Monday, May 09, 2016 - 01:31 pm: Edit

Yeah, as the person currently playing the Hydrans:

A) I'd like to continue playing the Hydrans.

and

B) The Hydrans are in a horrible situation anyway :-)

The Gorns will come up not too far off, and would be a much better place to start in this game. As the Hydrans are homeless, out of supply, and likely to be pinned anywhere they go.
