Anyone still looking for a game?
I just got back into the 2010 rules and would like to play out a few scenarios...
I am willing to play any race but have been more on the coalition side of things so would definately need extra time to play alliance.
More than willing to play however...Vassal, though not great at it...PBM...facetime...whichever.
Let me know.
Even if just want to practice a few turns

Where are you located at?

I am located in Ohio...at least for the moment. Planning a move but that is not for 6 to 8 months.

You might desire to post the scenario you wish to play, perhaps someone will be interested.

Dan,
Submit your information to Starlist.

There are a couple of players in the area who don't always check the board.

Well, if you can't find another opponent, I'll play whatever scenario you want, with whatever option points or penalties you want (for both sides). I do have a lot of experience playing and am familiar with the current rules. I prefer to play by email with vassal and to use the PBEM die roller, which I can explain via email at a later point.
You can contact me at mcalhoon2 at sbcglobal dot net. Use @ and . instead of at and .

Writing here to see if anyone is up for a possible multi-player game. I am normally a tabletop player, but the friend I have been playing is pretty much out indefinitely due to a new child and blossoming law practice. I've never done PBEM but have been playing around with Vassal for several months now and like it more than I expected (cat can't mess up the board unless I leave the computer unattended
I say multi-player because I have only played 1-on-1 except for when I first learned in the early 90s. I have personally noticed that gameplay slows down quite a bit when the alliance player has to deal with Fed entry, and then conversely when Roms enter for the Coalition. Each person having 1-2 empires to control makes things simpler, and could contribute to games lasting beyond turn 12 (in theory.)
I have all the expansions (except ISC war), and play all rules, but am flexible. My email is in my profile if you have any interest.

I'd be in, but I've only got the base game and am unfortunately not able to get the rest right now. :/

If you two get a game going I'd be happy to play the Gorns or Hydrans (or both).

I'd be down for a basic game. Probably would move along much faster, tbh.

Richard, we are setting up a match now. PM me or Sam if you're still game.

Anyone looking for a match?
I can play any side or empire.
Rather play rules that don't add to the amount to time it takes to play...since the game is long enough...but will play whatever.

Currently use Vassal

I will as soon as I get starfinder list. I lost his contact info years ago. I have played him before, good times.

Hey James,
Sent you an email this morning.
Welcome back to the fold. We will be working out our September game date soon. Our August one was today. We've only just started a new game this summer so it is not too late to fit you in. Next session is turn 4A. The Hydran border along Klingon space is down, and the Hydran are massing to defend their starbases. Good times.

Hello, all! Have not played F&E in quite a long time but would love to start back up again. I’m in NE Vermont so I’m guessing email/vassal or some such would be the likely way to go.
Thanks,
Ben

Also, has anyone found a way to run vassal and/or cyber board in iOS? I have an old pc laptop that I could use in a pinch but iPad would be more convenient most of the time. Not finding solutions for that yet though.
I’m also game to try even a small scenario with someone to get my feet wet again, full general war not necessarily required.

I know someone who used Vassal on a Mac, so it's at least possible.
By Douglas Lampert (Dlampert) on Friday, September 10, 2021 - 11:46 am: Edit |
It would probably work with WINE, at least a quick google finds WINE implementations for a Mac.
WINE is free and allows UNIX based systems to run a windows emulator.
