BORDERS OF MADNESS is a potential product that would allow SFB players to use the faster Federation Commander game engine to play some larger battles in less time. If it is even published, it might include such things as scout rules and fighters, in a more streamlined form.

BOTTOM LINE: We do not need to turn Federation Commander into Star Fleet Battles because we already have Star Fleet Battles.

DO NOT PANIC: The last thing I need is for people to see a bunch of SFB guys talking about electronic warfare rules and complain that I'm going to open up the FC rulebook and dump in all of the rules that made people stop playing SFB.

This starts from Mike W's list of things that might be added to FC or BoM. I bring this up because maybe we want to scrape all of this stuff together, add a few new pieces, and throw a playtest pack up on PDF stores.

Intelligent Computers: He said this had already been done. I don't remember doing it. Where was it? (He didn't mean the robot did he?)

Maulers: I vaguely remember doing some of these.

Stasis Fields: He said this had already been done. I don't remember doing it. Where was it?

Tholian Pinwheels: I remember doing this and I think I can find them easily enough.

Klingon firing arcs: If we did these I don't remember but just maybe we did. Anybody know where?

Fighters: Playtest rules and no end of ships were in Communique. The plan is for each empire to have ONE ten BPV fighter, not multiple types. No dogfight rules.

Gunboats: Mike wants these for vanilla FC and I'm not so sure. He and I have different ways of doing them and don't care for each others' way much.

Aegis/Escorts: Already in mainstream products.

Scouts: Already in mainstream products.

Gunboats: No big deal, already in Communique.

Drone options: Generally eliminated from consideration although some remote possibility exists for heavy drones.

Phaser capacitors: Just do not need them.

Mines: There is a remote possibility that non-hidden terrain feature mines might be done, but only the simplest of explosive mines, not captors and other special mines.

Transporter Bombs: Not going to happen but small mines as part of above could happen.

Wild Weasels, ECM drones, pseudo-plasma, ECM Plasma: over my dead body.

Tugs: Main tugs done.
LTTS: I think we did these.
Battle Tugs: Mike said we did these and I guess I can remember doing them.

HDWs: Right now I want to just release a few of these in specific configurations. I do not want to put customizable ships in FC.

Simulator empires: no problem.

Other historical empires: Already did them in various forms.
