Ewan McGregor's wife (Mary Winstead) is joining Disney's Star Wars Universe. Here is an excerpt from the interview getting Ewan's reaction.

"During the interview, McGregor jokingly said he was worried his son may rebel against his family now that Winstead has joined the Star Wars family. “My partner, Mary, is doing that Star Wars series with Rosario, and she’s about to start," McGregor stated. "Our little boy has been born into this massive Star Wars family. He will either embrace it or really go the other way. I don’t know, maybe he’ll be a Trekkie!”

Given that my job now is cyber defense, I thought the first 5:50 of this one was scary enough: DUST Sci-Fi Short Film "Eldritch Code" run-time = 9:29.

I am reading a fun book that I think SFB players would enjoy. It is Craig Martelle's Battleship: Leviathan. It is not high sci-fi like Heinlein or Asimov by any stretch and find the continuity in the prose and dialog to be broken at times but it has some excellent fleet battles that could easily make for great SFB scenarios.

AVENUE FIVE is on HBO. It's a series (two seasons) about a luxury cruise liner in space with the billionaire who invented it on board. Huge Laurie is captain and playing the role for all he is worth. The ship is almost halfway through an eight-week voyage to Titan when something happens and turns the trip into a four-year nightmare. The show is a comedy but very well done and the science is real enough. There are 5,000 people on board and these include another billionaire, a couple who were getting divorced but decided that the trip was paid for, a couple who got on board "illegally" by using non-transferable tickets bought by the wife's sister, a retired Canadian astronaut who was the 30th man to orbit Mars, a chief engineer who was ordered by the billionaire to do a spacewalk to "fix" the 29-second delay in communications, and a host of other whacky characters.

They don't list WESAYSO?

One of my favorite fictional corporation references is in Aliens. During Ripley's hearing, the bios of the now deceased crew of the Nostromo are displayed on a screen behind her, and there's a note that Dallas worked for the Tyrell Corporation in his file.

Anyone else enjoying the Red Rising saga by Pierce Brown? Fantastic page turners from a solid author. Imagine Hunger Games, Ender's Game and Dune wrapped in one with a heavy seasoning of GOT character development and intrigue.

I started reading the new James S. Corey novel, The Mercy of Gods. I am enjoying it. Has flavors of the Schizmatrix and Battlefield Earth. Has anyone else read/reading it?
