Nick, that's encouraging. Last week's episode started out poorly and then became "OK." The two or three prior episodes I could have done without. (Though I did like the parody of ST-OS at the beginning of one of the episodes of ST:SNW). This one I'm hoping will be better!

Discovery was so frustrating. High production values, a few really interesting characters (Saru, Lorca were compelling and some of the best character design in ST). The negatives overwhelm the good though--such poor plotting, over the top emotionality, obnoxious levels of representation without justification. All that aside from the main character, and there's a laundry list of problems surrounding her.
The one redeemer: it introduced Pike and No.1, and that got us SNW. SNW is more up than down, and while I wish they told more standalone stories, its a solid watch and holds up on rewatch. Its the one TV show I make time for every week while its being released.

Reading all the comments, maybe they should rename all the series "Galaxy Quest"

There is a new Franchise-licenced PC game on the way, titled Star Trek: Voyager - Across The Unknown.
It is set to offer players their own paths forward, in terms of charting a course for NCC-74656 USS Voyager across the Delta Quadrant.
Personally, I wonder if it offers the choice of "settling down" at the planet of the "37s", and attempting to build up a "pocket Federation", Federal Republic of Aurora-style.
But then, maybe a future game in which I could actually play as the FRA would be even better!

This just came out. Incredibly moving (and fixes a gross injustice):

All I can say is "wow." That was so well done. Plenty of AI to make it happen, but I didn't care. Masterpiece.

Actually it seems like this came out last year? I just missed it.

It's very good. But I'm not sure I understand what the point of the story is.
Kirk and Spock are just waking up in the afterlife or what?

I saw it as a vignette on the importance and value of friendship, and that its true value may be unappreciated until near death.
I also thought they may have been setting up some new Trek movie or series.

It’s a powerful emotional experience, I don’t think it’s intended to make sense or tell a story. It felt to me the same as the various times in my life that I was summoned to say goodbye to a grandparent, parent, aunt, uncle, or family pet. I think everyone has had such an experience, which is why this vignette felt so powerful. The times I wasn’t summoned, or didn’t get there in time, or nobody knew the death was coming somehow felt hollow and incomplete.

It is made to be added to after Kirk "dies" in Generations, to give his death a little more meaning.

The first episode of a new Franchise audio series, Star Trek: Khan, has been posted online.
New episodes are set to be released each Monday, from now until the 3rd of November.

I am still waiting to see what the sets will be. The only thing I have seen is the leaked pics of the Next Gen Enterprise-D., but no actual details yet beyond the fact that they are doing them.

I've heard about the Enterprise-D as well. Personally, I would love to see the Defiant.

Dan, I agree. I am clearing the decks for those sets! For franchises, I haven't really seen a bad set. Of course, mine are mostly the botanicals, but I did Rivendell.

Final episode of season three of Strange New Worlds dropped yesterday. It's quite good, and oh boy, it gets you right in the feels.

Gary wasn't a timellord. He was forerunner of the temporal cops. i think they were retcoonning him to be one of Wesleys Travillers.
