This week, my wife and I, adopted a rescue cat from a near by county humane animal shelter. It is a 5year old female feline, with orange eyes, tiger stripes, and black-brown fur (with Orange highlights), that is thick and luxurious.
Her name, I kid you not, is “Nova”, and looks every bit like a Kzinti in appear and attitude.
She, and our other cat, Skittles) another former inmate from the Same Animal humane shelter we got Nova from) each exchanged a Sincere “Hiss/Challenge”, and proceeded to ignore the other’s presence.
We had an intruder box elder bug that made the fatal mistake of entering our domicile, where upon both cats, immediately resolved their differences in the midst of a class 1 security breach, jumped into action as one single uniformed team. Skittles waded in to close combat with the intruder, while Nova, with an ease and confidence of an old soul hunter of legend, took the high road and leaped into the fray, not questioning for second Skittles dedication in executing a frontal assault.
It wasn’t pretty, but it took a forensic approach to reassemble the remains of the intruder for the victory ceremony.
The after action report concluded that our domestic security staff has passed inspection, muster and initial combat with full marks.
I need to order a new Kzinti CS class Strike Cruiser, just so I can paint it up in Nova’s colors.

Excellent.

Our new cat, named Nova has been a challenge.
Our normal procedures and protocols turned out to have little to no effect.
Close observation and trial and error have revealed that Nova has a serious hearing loss. She can still hear and identify high pitched sounds (mostly ground squirrels and birds…) but mid to low frequencies are seemingly offline.
That means using voice commands or music as a prompt is not an option.
After a top management team review of our options, it has been decided to teach basic sign language to our deaf cat.
Three weeks in, we have successfully taught her the (modified) signs for food, water, litter box, bed time/return to barracks, and general quarters.
She hasn’t quite grasped the concept of “wing man” but I have hope that we can teach her to report to her assigned combat stations when we set alert status to “Red Alert”
I mean, heck, the other cat learned. Still trying to sort out the Kzinti language, but we will get there in the end!

Nova in spanish or No va is no go which is why Chevy struggled in Mexico

Lar,
That is not true. The Nova was in fact very successful in Mexico and most of Latin America.
I urge you to do your research on the matter and find out the truth for yourself.

Robert, he was saying that Chevy struggled, possibly because of poor translations affecting sales.
Still, you make a good point, proper research is key in developing new or enlarging markets.

That Nova had trouble due to "No va" meaning "it does not go" is a popular urban myth, but the single word Nova is also a Spanish word and means "new". Which is fine. Nova is pronounced as a single word. People in Mexico may have joked about No Va, but AFAIK there's no sign and no evidence that it actually hurt their sales.

Dang those urban legos! Thanks.
I am sure growing up in metro motor city there were some false truths being spread on the subject due to bias.
Next your gonna tell me that FORD isn't really an acronym for Found On Road Dead.

FORD = First on Race Day.
