Took a couple of hours but the wife and I scored Thursday tickets to ComiCon in San Diego for next year, Friday and Saturday sold out before we even got to our spot in line!
We will probably get there Wednesday and leave Sunday; any suggestions on what to see there? San Diego Zoo is probably on the list and I think the USS Midway might be an option. Any other thoughts for those familiar with the area?

I lived in SD for a very long time.
The San Diego Wild Animal Park is almost a must. While the SD Zoo really is first rate, the WAP has no other equal in the world. Plan to spend a full day there.
Personally I also love Torrey Pines State Park in La Jolla. While much more sedate, it's a very calming place to visit.

I have not been in So Cal since 1982, and strongly recommend the San Diego Wild Animal Park, although it looks like they call it a Safari Park now.
Just up the road from the Wild Animal Park, is the Battle of San Pasqual park, where a battle of the Mexican/American war was fought.

I was in SD a few weeks ago, and managed to visit the USS Midway before catching my flight back to the UK. Highly recommended!

Happy Thanksgiving!
While entirely a cliche, it remains true that an attitude of gratitude is not a platitude.
Eat Turkey! (Or whatever it is that you eat!)

Lots of ham for me, please! Turkey is always too dry. Honestly, though, I'm here for the green bean casserole and banana pudding.

Green bean casserole is known as DOUBLE DEATH since both Steves are allergic to onions and mushrooms. With one dish you kill us both.
Turkey doesn't have to be dry. There are people who can cook it and produce deliciously tender juicy turkey. One is Leanna's friend Janet who cooked the Red Hat dinner a week ago.

My wife always cooks a nice tender juicy turkey or full chicken... She stuffs the bird with fruit. A orange grapefruit other things.... so YEAH

Brine and a pressure cooker for the win on a 5-6 lb turkey breast. It is amazing!

Woke up to a half-inch of snow on the ground. My wife is happy; she got her White Christmas after all.

Broke a bone for the first time ever yesterday morning. Messed up my right wrist, gonna have surgery on Friday. Really annoyed with myself since I chose to go outside for a moment when I knew it was really icy.

Good luck with the surgery!

I am pleased to announce that I have landed a position as Counsel at a new law firm - Lathrop GPM, a large and prestigious firm. I'm still doing patent law, but now at a significant pay raise and working in technical fields that are more closely aligned with my technical interests.
I am very blessed and grateful for the opportunity.
Thought I'd share good news for a change!

Ted so you stay where you are or do you move to another part of the country for this new job?
