Star Fleet Universe Discussion Board: Star Fleet Armada: Future Star Fleet Armada Products: Archive through August 02, 2012
By Phil Shanton (Mxslade) on Wednesday, March 07, 2012 - 01:09 am: Edit

You could do consider doing what Brigade Models did, they did their universe in an earlier edition of Starmada, they didn't do a new edition they kept their book available as that edition, so any new models could be used with the old rules. (link for reference purposes) http://www.brigademodels.co.uk/Spaceships/index.html

If you do decide to do the new edition, you could do the Admiral edition as pdf only if the problem is cost.

But all of this is just my opinion, which doesn't count for much.

I would buy battleships in a Admiral's Edition and all of them in a Nova Edition if published. All in both electronic and hard formats.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Wednesday, March 07, 2012 - 02:37 pm: Edit

Current theory is to do new versions of each book. Debating whether to do a both versions of battleships. Probably have the admiral books available PDF and mail order, nova in stores.

Might have one big PDF update for existing books.

I have recently invested in two Star Fleet books. I would hate to think they have just been rendered obsolete. Battleships in AE would be my choice. I like Starmada as is-I am undecided on the new version.

Are the Starmada articles in Captain's Log going to be written for Nova edition from now on?

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Wednesday, July 18, 2012 - 03:11 am: Edit

The mj12 site lists the Nova editions of Klingon and Romulan Armada for sale now. http://www.mj12games.com/starmada/

The newest Star Fleet Alert mentions August sales: http://www.starfleetgames.com/Alert_120718_CL45.pdf

Which is correct?

Who is my starmada checking ship cards guy?

I have six new nova ships in CL45 and want my veteran starmada staff expert who speaks Starmada to read them.

SVC - got your email, will get right on to checking these.

Thanks, Terry. Sorry I couldn't remember your name earlier.

I see the new versions are up on Daniel's website. How soon before ADB starts selling them?

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Friday, July 27, 2012 - 08:03 pm: Edit

I think we already are. If not, they'll be part of the CL45 release, but I didn't think Leanna was holding them for that.

By Darren Kehrer (Kehrer1701) on Saturday, July 28, 2012 - 10:47 pm: Edit

I don't see the "Nova" updated versions of KA and RA on the ADB order page, just the Admirality versions.

Darren,
I just posted the question to Daniel about this. Lord knows that I hope he didn't release it before last week. I got a preview copy of the rules and I pointing out a few errors to him. And somethings that I thought were a little unbalancing.

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Sunday, July 29, 2012 - 11:13 am: Edit

I believe Leanna has been printing the books already.

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Sunday, July 29, 2012 - 11:59 am: Edit

If so, I hope they have corrections.

By Ken Rodeghero (Ken_Rodeghero) on Sunday, July 29, 2012 - 06:24 pm: Edit

I hope they make their way to e23 soon, as well.

By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Sunday, July 29, 2012 - 08:06 pm: Edit

I hope they aren't printed with errors. I concur with the desire to see them on e23.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Sunday, July 29, 2012 - 09:04 pm: Edit

Talk to Leanna about e23. I have no way to control what she sends there and she's more likely to listen to a passle of you guys then to me.

@Paul, any word from Daniel Kast about the changes you suggested?

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Monday, July 30, 2012 - 06:40 pm: Edit

No response from Daniel, yet. Unfortunately, Daniel is too much like me. That could be good or bad. I am hoping not in a bad way.

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Monday, July 30, 2012 - 09:24 pm: Edit

Just got a response and Daniel has fixed the issues that i have found.

By Darren Kehrer (Kehrer1701) on Thursday, August 02, 2012 - 05:59 am: Edit

Do we know if these changes are in the current (or soon to be sold) versions by ADB?

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Thursday, August 02, 2012 - 02:21 pm: Edit

I hope so. I reported them on the 23rd. He reported on the 30th that the fixes were incorporated into the rules.

BTW, some of the things that were wrong were just a mismatches between the rules page and the ship cards.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Thursday, August 02, 2012 - 03:35 pm: Edit

I am not entirely clear on what these items were, what products were involved, whether they were ever reported to ADB, or when ADB would have gotten new files (or from whom). (e.g., The 30th of what?)

By Paul Franz (Andromedan) on Thursday, August 02, 2012 - 07:39 pm: Edit

Sorry, Steve it was the 30th of July. I assume that Daniel fixed the rules after July 22-23rd when he sent me the rules.

The product was Romulan Armada: Nova Edition. I discussed a rule change to Klingon Armada:Nova Edition early in July sometime before the 4th. But that does not matter.
