As a new player of SFBF, I have been using it as a tool to convert some of my CCG acquaintances into the SFU while I lead them on the primrose path of Federation Commander.
I think SFBF is a fantastic little game and have smacked myself (repeatedly) for not picking up a copy earlier in life.
I would heartily love to see the expansion go to print since the Captains Log updates seem to go back as far as 2002. I have already introduced those since I have sleeved the cards to keep them in good shape, and just have sleeves with printed versions of the new ship cards (colored in with map pencils, to add a little visual zest). For the new Action Cards, I simply typed them up in MS Word in text cells of the correct size and printed onto cardstock. I tried introducing a small bit of artwork but am not the handiest person with that stuff, so I will try version 2 when I have more time.
On that note, does anyone know of a good source of plastic sleeves for 2.25x3.5 inch cards? I have some old ones for regular CCG cards, but their extra width would be nice to ignore.

A few errata questions I'm too lazy to look for:
1. In a 3 player game, can a player not involved in an attack use defensive cards like Shield reinforcement, ECM and Prime Teams to bail another player out? For example: player A attacks one of Player B's ships. Player C wants to help player B out for whatever reason and plays an ECM card to save player B's ship. Can this be done?
2. Does cloaking and wild weasels reduce the damage by 50% rounded up or down> Example: My Fed Frigate get's attacked by a 5 point photon card and I decide to use a weasel. Do I take 2 or 3 damage?
3. Is is the same for cloaking with the 50% damage thing?
Thanks

REPLY: No, your cards are your own, and your turn is your own. There is no provision in the rules for any player other than the Active Player and the Defending Player to play cards.
2. Does cloaking and wild weasels reduce the damage by 50% rounded up or down> Example: My Fed Frigate get's attacked by a 5 point photon card and I decide to use a weasel. Do I take 2 or 3 damage?
REPLY: The Cloak rule specifically says to "drop any fraction", it is in the Paranthetical right after the first use of "50%". Given that there is no specific statement in the Wild Weasel Rule, I would have to go along with the Wild Weasel Rule and say that any fractions are dropped.
3. Is is the same for cloaking with the 50% damage thing?
REPLY: See above.

Actually Wild Weasels round up. Page 10-11 of the rulebook.
Also, are the Fed Kirov HBC and the Klingon C7 HBC cards still available somewhere? If not, does anyone know the stats of them and I can just whip up cards for them myself.

A question about follow up attacks in a two player game. Can you attack with a Romulan, Tholian, or Orion ship as your first attack, and then use your follow up attack as a formation change and Cloak or Web the ship?

The following question was posted on Boardgamegeek. If someone can answer it I will repost the answer there (with credit to here).
"I just picked up a copy of Star Fleet Battle Force from my FLGS and I have been trying it out. I am a little confused about the solitaire rules.
"As I understand it, you deal cards to the enemy side until you find a weapon card that a ship can use. You then deal cards to that ship until you get to a weapon card that the ship cannot use. Any defense or repair cards are kept in the enemy's hand and are used for defense and repair. What is happening is that the enemy is getting a huge stockpile of defensive and repair cards, so the enemy can repair all damage and defend against any attack I throw at him.
"Am I using the rules correctly?"

Yes, you are. It's just a random run of luck how many defensive cards he builds up, but there are only so many, each can only be used once, and you can batter through them. By definition, a solitaire opponent is pretty stupid and he needs this edge to fight you.

Are SFBF cards "standard" playing card size (like your average deck of poker cards) or are they a different size?
I researched this but could find no information that expressed the cards' size. I presume this means they're the size of your average playing cards, but I just don't know.
