Cool

Big, beefy, direct family connection from War Eagle and to the Condor. I like it.

I was going to flag the two plasma-R launcher ports as looking undersized, but the comparison images show that they are right in-line with those on other ships, so no problem there.

As usual, Sandrine found some artful ways to give it a little distinctiveness and "flair" with the command module, dorsal fin, and rear extension. Nice touch.

I assume any issue with the source art for the "belly bird" have long since been resolved.

Agree with Will. The comparison pics really sell it. Just checking the MSC in G3, looks like it does not have powered and aerodynamic landing capability, so it shouldn't have landing pads. Looks correct to me.

Kudoos to Sandrine for a well done and distinctive version of the Vulture.

It looks good overall, and I also appreciate the comparison pics.

I like that the engines are still that little bit different from those on the Condor, despite being similar in size. That should allow just enough leeway to account for the difference in performance between each kind.

I also noticed the family resemblance and like it. Agree 100% with Will.

I think Gary's right on the engines, too, that shows the evolution from the WE/KE all the way to the Condor.

I haven't checked the SSDs, but I always thought of the Condor being an upgraded Vulture, so I would have thought they should look a lot a like. Therefor, I think I'd like to see a but less depth to the scallop on the aft end.

Garth:

If it helps, the Vulture and Condor Ship Cards are on the FC Commander's Circle.

Garth - the flavor text for the Condor says "it owes something to the earlier Vulture", but not that it was an upgrade from it. They share the same front curve and width of the main hull, and the same engine support "wings", which to me is plenty to show that the influence was strong, possibly even to the point of using some of the same tooling, but not actually being rebuilds.

Okay, so after checking the SSDs (thanks, Gary), I withdraw my comments.

That's quite a deep indent at the rear, compared to the curved ones on the KE and Condor, especially in the three way plan view.

It does give it a distinctive look however. It's just a lot different from any plan view we've seen in SSDs.

I like that the wing angle was kept consistent. I also like that the older rounded cap on the front of the nacelles was used.
I don't care for the DEEP inset into the aft. I needs to only dip in about 30% of what it currently shows, imo. This would additionally allow the upper decks to be extended further back.
Also I really like Adam Turner's take on the Vulture with that box core. This is a ship, like the Warbird, that was built around the weapon. TWO R torp should make it even more so.

I think the tips of the wings need to extend part way up the side of the nacelle. The top being about centerline would be about right.

Lastly the scribed wing lines like on the top rear of the hull need to also be added to the rear of the fin, also.

I have been a huge fan of the Romulan Eagles forever. I was hoping the mini would live up to Adams artwork (and I believe it has). when I saw these images my wife told me to quit drooling on the computer then mumbled something about "Starship porn" as she walked away.

Hope this isn't spam?

yep, somebody posted a link to this topic somewhere and that brought the spammers. What you cannot see is that they have to slam the topic at least

By Garth L. Getgen (Sgt_G) on Sunday, May 25, 2014 - 10:30 pm: Edit

Jean posted the link on the FedCmdr board and also on the Mongoose board. But she's posted links on those two board in the past, and it never drew in spammers before. Maybe someone copy/paste her message to another board I can't find.

I do love the Vulture much more than the Condor. Taking a vulture hull and slapping a hawk generation bridge to the front of it just doesnt seem like the right way to design a hawk generation dreadnaught to me.

By Jack Bohn (Jackbohn) on Monday, May 26, 2014 - 07:25 pm: Edit

Odd, that is the very thing I like about the Condor. Here's a new fleet designed from the ground up, efficient production, interchangeable parts, and the top ship is the old design retrofitted to the new fashion, but still with custom engine tweaked to its mission.

Module R7 does show the proposed modular DN, the DemonHawk, but I tell myself the yards were still struggling to meet demand for the mass-produced engines and the fighting modules (even with specialist modules allowed to go to backorder) leaving an opening for one of the old-fashioned shipyards/Houses.
