I got a scan placing a ship in a SN hex. Sun (?) monsters can enter SN hexes but I already "met" one of the native monsters of the sector and it's not one of those. There is only one sort of monsters in a given sector, right? So either one of my opponents has a level 9 crew, so he bought a sun devil (or something like that :) ) with his one allowed monster buy. Did I miss a possibility?

There is also an event which provides SN immunity for one turn.

Yeah, but you would want to use that when you can jump a lot of SN at the same time.
