norm here, first game in awhile. I wasn't sure how much info we are allowed to write here, since there is an order you can use to give out info. Wasn't sure if it would be considered cheating by using the discussion board.

to be certain review the Board Posting Rules.
you should be able to post anything concerning the game you want to talk about. there is no restriction on how you conduct your diplomatic affairs.
for your protection, do not post sensitive personal info.

Hey All,

I have just joined this game (sorry, one less NPC for you to run over). I haven't done a non-DH game in a few years so just consider me a mostly harmless newbie.


I'm in sector 37; there now, see that wasn't that hard and now everyone can plan accordingly.


As usual I'm looking to make a few deals sooner than later.

Standard games are race to the finish line (look behind you, and if you don't see anyone, you know where you stand); not much chit-chat while running a race.

Besides, all the real wheeling and dealing takes place in emails. The forum is just propaganda, sprinkled with the occasional help tidbit.

Odd thing in the results last night.

The text in the email was for the current turn, but the zip file was from last turn.

Hey Paul and All,
As some of you may know, my turn 10 didnt run and I will be out of the game. Guess my turn got lost in cyberspace.

I dont know how often turns get lost in the electronic world, but emails can disappear or get filtered out. At my work, we have our regular email addresses, and we have one for orders. When we get an email order, our email system sends out an automatic verification reply. That way the buyer knows we got the order. This premiss would do well for you and to ease the game players minds'.

I always get a "we need your orders by such and such" if I do not send them in. And then I always drop Paul a note just to make sure he has them.

In the friendly spirit of the game I told Paul that I would agree to him running your turn, but that he should change your sequence number so that it is the last from now on. This will avoid a having your corp run a "double-turn" relative to your neighbors.

My email was full of those. We went camping on our vacation and it is our family break from electronics/internet.

That was a good suggestion. I dont know how the sequence stuff works but I drew some timelines on paper to get a mental image. No solution in this matter is perfect, in that this will cause ME to have been "double-turned" by about half the players. Looks like there was only one player to take advantage. (but i wont mention J@hn's name)
