Ken, I doubled the width of the body / passenger compartment, and added a bit of length to make it "look right".
Also, remember that if you "double the 6.25 x 4.00 meters" and make it 12.50 x 8.00 meters, that would be FOUR times as large.

Good point.
Since a drone is 1 cargo point and the HTS can carry 50, I would think you would have to increase the length of the shuttle to allow for the space. At 4 meters in width could put the drones in width-wise. To determine the length, if you stack the drones 5 tall (0.75m per drone), you would need 10 rows of drones or about 7.5m in the cargo area.
As a comparison, the C-5 Galaxy has a cargo compartment of 17.2 ft (5.24 m) wide by 13.5 feet (4.11 m) high and 100 ft (30.5 m) long.
The other thing to think about is how big is a pallet and how many drones fit on a pallet, that could also help in determining the cargo bay size.
A airline pallet is: Air Container Dimensions Main Deck Pallet (Equivalent to IATA Type 2)
External Displacement: 606 cu ft/17.16 cu m
Maximum Gross Weight: 15,000 lb/6,804 kg
Maximum External Dimensions: (L x W x H) Contoured
125" x 96" x 96"
317cm x 244cm x 244cm

Would drones be shipped/transported with their warheads/ fins etc mounted... If not that would shorten the drones.....

Ken, love having those C-5 numbers! By any chance, do you have the same for the C-130 Hercules??
For comparison, I built the POL's cargo hold as 10.0 x 20.0 x 5.75 meters (32.8 x 65.6 x 18.8 feet).
Bolo,
I agree. That's what I had in mind. It would have allowed drones to be moved in two parts from the cargo hold to the drone rack or shuttle bay via a standard turbolift. However, someone thought I was trying to open a backdoor a "new rule" that would allow hot-swapping of warheads. {sigh}

Garth, there is a size-four cargo shuttle (J2-R1.F14) that can hold 100 spaces of cargo.
Yes, a transported drone would have slightly different dimensions than those on the rack/wing...

Stewart, given that neither the HFS nor the VFS can operate from ships, I'm not going to worry about them. Someone else can figure those out. ;-)

C-130J-30 cargo hold: length, 55 ft (16.76 m); width, 119 in (3.02 m); height, 9 ft (2.74 m). Rear ramp: length, 123 inches (3.12 m); width, 119 in (3.02 m)

So, pretty much the size of a school bus. That's what I figured the last time I rode in a C-130.

I don't have my rules handy. What does an Admin shuttle take up in cargo space (both ready for flight & as cargo)?
Answering those questions should also go a long way to providing a reasonable guestimate as to the actual dimensions of the HTS.

Admin stored = 25 points, flight ready = 50 points, can carry 15 points. Per Module G3, page 156.

I was looking for images of a pallet of missiles being loaded into a C-5 or another cargo aircraft but I could not find a pallet of missles.
