I am confused about the Carnivons. Are these ships also going to fill in for the standard General War era versions or are those being done later? I don't believe any other empire has Early Years ships yet.

Technically the Lyrans and Hydrans do, in the form of late-Y-series ships that have been refitted to semi-modern tech and relegated to Coast Guard duty because they're still just /that/ obsolete... Look for their "Local Defense" ships.

When Steve decides to do actual Y and W series ships I'll redo these with some tweaks and new greeblies for the older weapons.

Also, "Early" may not mean Y-series. The Lyrans have the "Early" BC and DN (Royal Panther and Royal Tiger) that are actually Middle Years ships, the last pre-trimaran ships.

The cover of Module C6 shows the YCC. As it seems to be the prime source for canon Carnivon artwork, it served as the default template for forcing that shape through Shapeways. The rest of the (conjectural) Carnivon cruisers will get their own models in upcoming batches.

In Jean's list the Carnivon ships are listed as Y-series (YCC, YCA). If these are Middle Years ships shouldn't they be listed as CC, CA?

The SSDs that match those two models are labeled YCC and YCA. The weapon mounts don't match the SSDs for the CC or the CA, Middle Years or otherwise. It is what it is.

(I've already tried giving Jean a headache by bungling the description for one of the ships. The CC and CA will labeled as such when they come.)

Good to see the Helgardians lead the way, in terms of introducing the Triangulum setting to the Shapeways storefront.

Speaking of distant frontiers: the "lost empire" Paravian miniatures added to the storefront not that long ago also happen to be useful stand-ins for the playtest Omega-Paravian ships in Captain's Log #54. Simliarly, perhaps some of the "modern" Carnivon miniatures (based on their Module C6 SSDs) to be featured on Shapeways might one day also cover whatever hull designs the (alleged) Carnivon exiles would (supposedly) build over in the Sargasso Storm Zone...

Jean, one of those things that suddenly struck me in the middle of the night. Will did (and I think sent you) Weird Boat #10 but I think it has gunboats on it which means he really sent Weird Boat #10-P. Can you email him to send you one without the gunboats to be Weird Boat #10-normal?
