Finally read the ISC rules.
The ISC logistics ROMP capability is simply sick. I love it.

ISC HFP: Sheet Four has 4 of these pods (0[8H]). Since there is no '+' or '-' in the name, these would seem to be tug or LTT pods. However, (545.12) does not note such an exception. The ISC SIT does not seem to list the HFP at all, though there is the LTT-only LHF (0[8H]) pod (limit 2). Should I mark two of these as Tug pods, and 2 as LTT pods?

Just got done reviewing the ISC Pacification scenario. It is truly a masterpiece of scenario design.
The level of detail down to the crippled ships, pacification cordons, and alternating play really shows that the ADB scenario design put a lot of effort to make this scenario one of the best written and organized to date.
Keep up the great work.

(625.597) Special Bases and Planet Dispositions: Klingons are listed as adding a STX to 1502. This is deep in Kzinti territory.... The Kzinti are *also* listed as adding a STX to 1502. Is this just a bad duplication, or should the Klingons have a STX added somewhere else? - James Lowry 12/14/2011

(702.0) Third Fleet: (Y186 OoB) The crippled list includes "...HDW, 6xDW, 4xDW, 2xFF" Is there supposed to be 10 crippled DWs, or is one of those misdesignated, or is it an extra listing? (Perhaps 6xDD, 4xDW, given the order used elsewhere? Though that seems an excessive number of DDs.) -James Lowry 12/15/2011

A clarification on (625.22).
In some cases, a given NZ cordon stops short of a given neutral zone's full length; for example, Cordon Bravo stopping as far coreward as hex 3908. Do the PEZs and CEZs surrounding the cordon lines extend into these unoccupied NZ hexes, or are they only on one side or another of a given cordon line?
(To stick with the eample of the cordon hex in 3908; does it impose a PEZ on hexes 3807, 3907 and 4007, and CEZs into hexes 3707, 3806, 3906, 4006 and 4107; or do the zones of enforcement only apply to the hexes perpendicular to the cordon line which hex 3908 is at the coreward terminus of, i.e. with PEZs in 3808 and 4008, and CEZs in 3708 and 4108, with no "rounding out" of the cordon areas?)
By Chuck Strong (Raider) on Saturday, December 17, 2011 - 03:05 pm: Edit |
Gary:
Hexes 3909/1906/1215 would be treated as PEZ hexes and hexes 3808/1905/1316 would be treated as CEZ hexes BY THE ISC in this scenario; the other empires treat these as traditional neutral zone hexes or Vudar territory as appropriate.

Chuck:
Understood about the Cordon Foxtrot zones; but to clarify, have the listed areas for cordons Bravo and Delta been adjusted?
(Based on the numbers above, Cordon Bravo should stop in hex 3910, and Delta in hex 1907. However, my revision of the book has them continue on to 3908 and 1904; which would make hexes 3907 and 1903 PEZs, and 3906 and 2002 CEZs.)
By Chuck Strong (Raider) on Saturday, December 17, 2011 - 07:17 pm: Edit |
Gary:
The ISC neutral zone EASEMENT is one hex wide between former General War ENEMIES (Klingon/Lyran & Klingon/Vudar zones included); see (625.22). Their Pacification Charter for their neutral zone Pacification transit network didn't include 3808 or 3909; these are simply looked at by the ISC as CEZ and PEZ hexes respectively and as standard and by-in-largely un-enterable neutral zone hexes by the Gorns and Feds during this scenario.

(703.0) Southern Fleet: (Y186 OoB) The crippled carriers include "[CVT+2xF5E]". Is this a CVT, or CVT+? (Which would be.... '[CVT++2xF5E]'; I think we need a better nomenclature....) Curious because of the strong likelyhood of it getting picked up as a typo, and the fact that a non-improved CVT would seem improbable. -James Lowry 18 Dec 2011
As a general note, the carrier escorts seem a little blander than I was expecting. Notably, I'm not seeing any of the NCA-based heavy escorts, and I was expecting to see a couple. Of course, I don't have R10, so I don't know if they're all considered UNV.

One word: Balance
The Kzinti has one and the Romulans have three (some are tied up with their civil war). The other Alliance members cannot or didn't produce a NCA escorts.
Hand-Wavium Rationale: A lot of heavy fighting occurred late in the war within Klingon space and it was far better to lose a heavy escort to save a space control ship.

(702.0) First (Home) Fleet: (Y186 OoB) The auxiliary listing includes the "LVH", which is not in a published module, nor appears in the Master SITs. (Aux F101 carrier?) -James Lowry 20 Dec 2011

(704.0) Third Star Legion: (Y186 OoB) The crippled carrier list includes a "SKV", this ship has not appeared in any product and is not in the Master SIT, nor is it listed as a 'future' ship, like several others in the OoB. I presume it is an advanced form of the SKB, but am not sure. -James Lowry 20 Dec 2011
(704.0) various: (Y186 OoB) There are several instances of the "SKR" appearing in the carrier sections of different fleets. I believe this is the FCR variant of the SK, which has not been published in a module yet, but is not noted as such. -James Lowry 20 Dec 2011
Also, is there a good source for the proposed statistics for these ships, and the ones that are marked 'future' in the OoB (F-DVA, R-SUU, R-VHK, T-NSCS)? I would like to provide them in an extension for the Vassal module.

(706.0) General HQ: (Y186 OoB) The OoB gives the Gorn one REPR and 3xR-POD. However, the Gorns normally get two REPR, and receive three repair pods in addition to the normal one. Since there is currently no way to lose these in combat, I suggest this should be 2xREPR and 4xR-POD. -James Lowry 24 Dec 2011
