I *thought* you got your specified numbers of police ships for free each turn, up to your max limit, THEN paid the 2 EP to call up any additional ones. So technically both free and 2 EP apply.

But I was wrong :(

I'm not sure why I thought that, going through all the police ship rules, and searching through all the F&E books, I can see nothing whatsoever referring to a "2 EP" call up in regards to normal police ships, just the FLGs.

So, I think *all* the SITs are in error, as there is no way to "call up" a regular police ship at 2 EP, you have to *build* them. You can build one instead of a frigate (a horribly stupid idea, except maybe the GNV) but you can't call more up than you get for free.

As a SIT space savings effort we should just list units with two SFGs on the same line as the unit with one SFG and then note the "AA" version in the notes section. Ratioanle: the listing of "A" and "AA" versions are identical except for the conversion cost which can be listed as 3 or 6 EPs.

Why do we need to save space on the master sit? It's an on line document.

By Chuck Strong (Raider) on Friday, January 03, 2014 - 01:34 am: Edit

It minimizes errors -- if something unrelated to the SFG is changed on a line item for one ship (B10A) the editor MUST remember to change it on the other nearly identical ship (B10AA).

In addition, when printed out it just wastes paper especially when you carry over a ship classification page break.

Klingon D6U: Should add conversion cost "From D6Y 2+19". Rationale: D6Y -> D6V = 1+5(per SIT), D6V -> D6U = 2+14 (per SIT). Conversion may not necessarily be eligible for two-step discount but initial fighter hanger and weapon/fuel storage is already in place to justify conversion progression and discount of D6Y->D6U. - Andrew Bruno 01/27/14
STRONG: While this is NOT a two-step conversion it still needs to be available as a standard conversion. Recommend adding conversion: "From D6Y: 2+19".

By Kevin Howard (Jarawara) on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 - 10:11 am: Edit

I disagree. A two-step conversion has the first step as an increase in the hull size, the second step as a conversion to a variant.

I could see the D6Y being covertable directly into a D6U, but it would be a single conversion, not a two step conversion with discount.

Thus:

D6U: Should add conversion cost "from D6Y 3+19" Rational: D6Y -> D6V = 1+5 (per SIT), D6V -> D6U = 2+14 (per SIT). Conversion through both steps should be simple enough to do as one step, so add the costs together. - Kevin Howard 1/29/14
STRONG: While this is NOT a two-step conversion it still needs to be available as a standard conversion. Recommend adding conversion: "From D6Y: 2+19". Rationale: This is already a carrier a should receive a discount better than converting a standard D6 which costs 3+24.

Ok, thanks Chuck.

Klingon: Large Auxiliaries: LAH: YIS: Y165 should be Y176. Y176 is the Hvy Fighter Introduction Date in G3. Although it could be Y178 by rule (530.0). Thomas Mathews 5 Apr 2014
