J+J Ranch is a party room we can rent for $500 for the duration with enough room for two F&E games, one RPG table, and light food preparation areas. But it appears you don't need it.

Mike I sent link previously and we should be able to move furniture around (photos ahead so we can put it all back) enough for the two games.

Food should be relegated to the kitchen. There is a grill in back for bbq if we want (I do)

BTW I exploded my clavicle in a bike crash last Saturday. Surgery yesterday put it all back together my recovery will take me all the way to this event but I still plan to attend. I my not be able to lift any of the heavy stuff but then that is weeks away.

Hey F&E guys. After talking to Chuck and Ryan, Stratcon this year will coincide with the Council of Five Nations Big Bang Blowout this year. That is currently scheduled for Jyle 17-21 of this year. We'll be looking to extend the start date 3-4 days early, to give time to get some meaningful playing time in, so a start of July 13th or 14th.

My hope is that we get a good turnout, and can run multiple games. My thought is this:

1 mid- to large size scenario, that would start on the first day and run to the end of the con, for 3-7 players (additional players could rotate in and out)

1 game of Early Begnnings (a 4X game based on F&E) (up to 6 players)

2-3 small scenarios, playing by 2-4 players. The idea is to have scenarios that could be played in a day, so that people who are interested in F&E but also want to play SFB and/or FedCom/ACTA could get in a game. The would also give people a chance to play that haven't played, or haven't played much, and want to learn, but don't or can't devote the time to play F&E all week.

F&E demos could also be done, 1-2 hour sessions on the basics.

These are just my ideas, but totally open to input. The idea is to engage as many people as possible, so if you are interested in playing at least some, give your feedback, and we'll try to accomodate you.

BBB currently has 30-40 committed attendees, mostly SFB and FedCom players, but there are some that have interest in F&E. I'd like to use this opportunity to bring our F&E community together with the larger SFU and make this a big event like we used to have.

Love it. Travel for me at that time is unlikely due to previous commits but its a big chance to get the East coasters back in the fold where we have largely been central / west the past few years.

I still remember attending that first Origins being wowed with all the names I knew from the game and being able to put a face to them. Looking back that is 22 years ago!! Still one of my favorite experiences even though I was only there that first year for one day!
