Confirmed. The MRS with the con cargo should be there about 1900 on Friday.

By John Wong (Thefeds) on Monday, February 11, 2019 - 05:35 pm: Edit

My ETA is 1700 Friday depending on weather and road conditions. Do we need to bring anything extra? Maps. Counters, etc?

By Nick Blank (Nickgb) on Monday, February 11, 2019 - 09:25 pm: Edit

Last I heard Mike was providing game materials?, but let us know if we need to bring stuff beyond our own econ forms, rules, etc...

By Ryan Opel (Ryan) on Monday, February 11, 2019 - 11:59 pm: Edit

Mike has put electronic econ forms in our Dropbox. You should just need to bring your copy of the rules.

I have counters, map, fleet charts, capital charts, etc. ready to go. Starting fleets sorted and ready to go. I have two tally devices in my kit. If anyone wants to bring more that would be helpful.

I will also be bringing a few extension cords and power strips.

I will also be bringing an assortment of other games.

By Ryan Opel (Ryan) on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 - 07:43 pm: Edit

I'll bring my clickers. Do you have dice towers? I have 4 available.

By Mike Curtis (Nashvillen) on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 - 10:07 am: Edit

I have two that I am bringing. I will also have my VBIR die along with all my double sixes and other SFU dice.

I am on site, but might pop out for dinner in a bit if I don't run into anybody else.

how's the fight going, which turn have you got to, and are there any highlights on youtube?

By Nick Blank (Nickgb) on Monday, February 18, 2019 - 08:28 am: Edit

We go through turn 4 of the combined General War + Demon of the Eastern Wind scenario, lost a player due to illness (Lyran), and decided to scrap that game as two people running the Coalition doesn't work vs 4 on the Alliance.

Getting ready to set up an Early Beginnings game this morning.

We tried youtube, but the hotel bandwidth did not support it.

I am coping with my strength failing, I'm very disappointed with my mind failing. First day things went well, but the aura was there warning me. I realize I brought minimum support, so I failed.

It was wonderful meeting so many people I'd only read about, and being able to play with them. Nice to meet you Nick and Jason. Ryan, I hope to actually face you one of these times. John (Kzin) you were the best.

It was nice to meet you David, sorry things worked out that way.

We built an EB setup after a trip to wal mart and a print shop yesterday morning and got through turn 16, will continue today.

Who is playing who?

Jason Lyran
John R Klingon
John W ISC
Nick Rom
Dave Gorn

After 2 days, EB through turn 22. The Lyrans have raided the Roms, and the Gorn have had some minor border skirmishes with the ISC. The only really major combat so far has been the Gorn crushing a double major NPR, losing hordes of DDs in the process. Borders are really starting to push up against each other though.

Are you using the old big maps?

By Ryan Opel (Ryan) on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 - 02:52 pm: Edit

Small maps.

And your rules need a little editing support.

send me an email....

We modified the game around turn 24/25. Set up alliances, Fed/Gorn, Klingon/Lyran, Romulan/ISC. then a turn without invasions to allow a bit of reorganization (move everything to THAT border!). Then allow the basic victory point menu to be able to be scored at any time by all players, AND still use the cards, but they score double VPs if you complete them. Much more exciting game after that.

Tried to post a pic, but the board game geek image uploader seems to be down tonight. Will try later.

you are playing wrap around map, correct?

By Jason E. Schaff (Jschaff297061) on Thursday, February 21, 2019 - 09:39 am: Edit

No funky trans-dimensional board wrapping.
