This is a new game between Paul Howard and me. Rules are F&E 2010, but we are using the advanced combat table. We bid for sides (see the Across the Pond topic for that). I have the Alliance, with 4 balance points. I was sorely tempted to use them to teleport 4D6 to the distant future (otherwise known as mothball reserves), but am instead using them for six extra Fed ships -- 3NCL and 3FF. Unclear where they are supposed to go.

Whatever turn you get them, they're new construction, so get free strategic movement on that turn to any strat move point in Fed space I would think.
By Paul Howard (Raven) on Thursday, February 28, 2019 - 02:07 am: Edit |
They are Pre-War Construction - so I agree with Richard.
Will do the Lyran set up today if I can.
Good name Sir!

Celebrations of the 6th anniversary of the end of the Four Powers War continue on Kzintai. Little do the kitties know that a new war is delayed only because the Lyrans are incorrectly using certain software . . .

Well, Tribbles 2000 was better than Kitty Kat 3.1

Rules check -- can one substitute the basic hulls for a scheduled carrier group?
I would think the answer is yes. But I don't see it anywhere.
By Ted Fay (Catwhoeatsphoto) on Monday, March 04, 2019 - 01:47 pm: Edit |
I don't know what your house rules are, but ordinarily allowed substitutions are handled in the OOB for a given empire.

On a related note, are there "master" OOBs available anywhere, like there are master SITs? I have just cobbled together AO (which includes basic and CO) with the other expansions. It would be nice to have a master. Just asking.
By Paul Howard (Raven) on Monday, March 04, 2019 - 02:32 pm: Edit |
Hi William
Yes - 431.71.
If you don't want that 4 UH group - you can build some or all of the relevant individual normal hulls instead

Master OOBs are here:
Link
Then click the nation you want, then the folder at the top of that page, then download the .pdf.

William
Just checking the files safely arrived (as the original files you sent me to my AOL account didn't
Once you have done the Kzinti - I can do the Klingons and C1 eco at the same time.

Ok that explains it
Your AOL address must not have accepted my mail. I'll try your other one.

Just sent to your other mail. If you have the correct file, the Kzinti are set up, and all the Alliance powers are pruned of expansion ships. It does not have one of your setup moves as I can't merge them into it.

Did you get the files at your box email?
By Paul Howard (Raven) on Saturday, March 09, 2019 - 01:19 pm: Edit |
William - yes and thanks
No idea whats wrong with the AOL account!
Nearly finished the Klingons...….
"Admiral - we are missing a fleet"
I'll keep looking, but do you now where the Klingon Northern Fleet counter is?
By William Jockusch (Verybadcat2) on Saturday, March 09, 2019 - 01:32 pm: Edit |
Hmmm, when I opened the game, it said two counters were missing from the gamebox and had been deleted. I figured they were probably obscure and didn't matter. I might have been wrong? To get it we might need to start over. ugh.

Look up in where it says K00 Klingon. It may have accidentally been put there.
By William Jockusch (Verybadcat2) on Saturday, March 09, 2019 - 01:40 pm: Edit |
Well the TRAY for Klingon Northern fleet is there, with all the ships.
By William Jockusch (Verybadcat2) on Saturday, March 09, 2019 - 01:54 pm: Edit |
I just opened thewind.gsn with the root gamebox from that board, and it's not in there. So whatever happened, it happened before this game started.
By Paul Howard (Raven) on Saturday, March 09, 2019 - 01:55 pm: Edit |
Yep - the fleet box is correct...just no fleet counter.
Not a problem!
By Thomas Mathews (Turtle) on Sunday, March 10, 2019 - 08:34 am: Edit |
Ok, The Northern Fleet Counter is in KSIT Klingon SIT. This location seperates the Fleet Counters from the ship counters.
Sorry, I told you the wrong location. I remembered it being mentioned in the Cyberboard thread, and had to reread a good chunk of it to find it.
By Paul Howard (Raven) on Sunday, March 10, 2019 - 01:48 pm: Edit |
Thomas - it doesn't matter (I might use it as the Klingon 'Black' Fleet ), but no counter in the SIT tray - I would guess it was deleted.

sacrilege!. no CWS for the Lyrans with ep's able to do it.....
ignore me, what was I thinking!, for a start I meant DWS then I saw <<<< feels a bit like a dummy right now
By Paul Howard (Raven) on Sunday, March 10, 2019 - 04:35 pm: Edit |
As we are only playing 2010 (and the 2.5% damage table), there is not much of an advantage of a CWS over a DWS...
….and I can't buuld the CWS until Year 172!!
For SB and Capital Assaults, the CWS might survive.
