During the SB battle, the B10AA sat in form and contributed it's rather fat compot for the whole battle. I kept the BIR under control so that he couldn't do 90 damage to it - although he actually did do 60 at one point, but he declined to cripple it in form.

By Lawrence Bergen (Lar) on Thursday, May 07, 2020 - 05:16 pm: Edit

I suppose making your opponent spend 60 may supersede the economic points of forcing them to repair the B10 but the mental game it plays that you just delivered:

They now have a crippled battleship and it WILL have to retreat to a SB or FRD/PRD for repairs is fun. :)

@Lar: Yeah, really. I *seriously* thought he was going to cripple the B10 when he scored that 60+ damage. But Rob decided it was better to let the damage fall and not "waste" 40 damage points (which roughly translates to 10 EPs).

B10s (all BBs) are repaired at SBs (or STFs) only, no FRD/PRD need try … (435.27)

@Stew: yep I stand (sit here really) corrected. :)

CT12 is over.

There are a few holes in my defenses, but nothing that leaves really valuable targets undefended. He could bag NR SB or a Rom SB if he wanted, but not sure he's going to be willing to pay the price to do it, not since I still have about a 12% pincount advantage overall. We'll see, I guess.

I have 4 powerful reserves in the Romulan Empire, in preparation of the Gorn assault: North Fleet SB (of course), 2 Romulan on Remus, and 1 Klingon on SB 4015. Most of my fleets are forward deployed in Rom Western space, but basically I only have pickets in Fed space. Until I see how the Gorns deploy I wanted to be conservative with what he could do the Roms this turn.

Rob enjoys a substantial pincount advantage in the Western FTO. However, I have 4 powerful reserves here (1 in 1910, 1 in 2214, and a Klingon and a Lyran in 1714). The 2 in 1714 are unpinnable - The other two could be pinned if he chose.

I have one medium reserve on Lyran SB1202, but otherwise divided my forces on 1401 and 1202. He could take one or the other, but not both, and either way he'll pay a price to do it. Or he could raid into Klingon space. We'll see.

I have one weak reserve in the HTO. Yay.

Bring on AT12 and the Gorny Lizards!

Go Rob Go!

No offense Ted, but I gotta root for the good guys :)

Heh, no problem.

In fact, my daughter asked me about the game as I sat one day contemplating the map. She was APPALLED I was playing the "bad guys."

I was abjured to play the good guys in my next game!

By Gregory S Flusche (Vandar) on Friday, May 08, 2020 - 02:52 pm: Edit

Wait the good guys are the one that wins and wrights the history books. Besides the Klingons and Lyrans attacked the Kzinti for killing a prince. You can not let a insult like that go. The Federation being attacked by the Romulans and Klingons. The Federation is nothing but a puppet of the Vulcans. They federation has always been trying to take over other races territory. By using economic pressure and trade. So who is the bad Guy?

By Ted Fay (Catwhoeatsphoto) on Friday, May 08, 2020 - 04:51 pm: Edit

Yeah, I'm not playing those mind games with my 10 year old. o.O
