And of course if the possibility of having a combined housing and event location is realistic we need to figure that out quickly. We do have to give Steve plenty of time to reserve the J+J venue, or release it. The venue owners can't keep it on hold forever while we figure out plans.

It might be a good idea to contact any prospective AB&B owners and ask if they are OK with hosting an event (albeit small) on the property. A surprising number may simply say no immediately, due to dishonest renters who may mislead property owners about the true nature of the event (even if you tell them it is just gaming) and also potential zoning and insurance coverage issues.

Of course every AB&B owner is different and some may be event friendly.

Hotels are available Garth. We stayed in them last year and had no issues.

It would definitely be required to let an owner know in advance if you are exceeding the number of people you told them you were bringing.

Like I said there are some that list sleeps 6 or 8 or 12 even. But if we have all the games there and its 2 tables with 13-15 players it might violate your contract and incur penalties or worse. Remembering these are typically people's homes and they are located in neighborhoods. The neighbors are likely looking for a reason to call the city or cops to complain. Our Mileage may vary haha

DO we need to make a decision on the AirBNB?

The one I had first indicated was good for sleep arrangements and keeping costs to attend down but wasn't for hosting any event. There were others for that, and the extra cost and hassle with AirBNB contract might be too much hassle so as to go with SVC's plan. Let's discuss/decide so we can move forward.

If you guys work this out and Chuck commits to attend by Friday of THIS WEEK then ADB will pay the $500 cost of the J+J facility.

This assumes the previously discussed code of conduct designed to keep the game moving. All players must have a designated deputy with the full power to act in the event the primary commander of a given empire needs to take a personal phone call, arrives late, or leaves early and limits all players to "telling no more than one long funny story per day."

Hi Everyone,
I looked at the link Lar provided - looks fantastic with three areas that could host games (with some careful moving of furniture).

I looked at the city crime stats map, it's a nice area.

I can provide the tables that were used at my place last year, and SVC said there is a folding table or two at the office you can use.

please let me know if there is anything I can do to help on this end.
