In CL50, pg 116, for the ISC BLT what does the star? symbol represent?

By Thomas Mathews (Turtle) on Monday, July 27, 2020 - 02:26 pm: Edit

The Star is the PPD dot. The BLT has two PPDs on it in that configuration instead of the normal 4 for a BBL.

Staff Question: Are there updates and endorsements ready enough to green light resuming SIT updates in some sort of weekly progression? We were on a nice clip in April-May and the updated versions are fantastic.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Saturday, November 14, 2020 - 11:32 am: Edit

Lots to do, lots of time lost due to COVID, and SIT updates are non revenue and thus non priority. SIT updates literally delay TACTICAL OPERATIONS and CIVIL WARS on a direct one second for one second basis. Lots of voices around here thunk I spent way too much time on non-revenue items like updating SITs, Minis Register, Wall of honor, Reference Ship Chart.

Priority now is reprinting maps for Fed Comm, then new counters, then pick from: R4T, Shadow of the Eagle, R13, X2, ACTA Reinforcements, Star Fleet Panzers, Rumors of Wars, Tactical Ops, Combined Ops Update (Warbook), Gunboats Attack, X-Ships Attack, Fighters Attack, Omega Attack, CL55, Fedcom Reference Ship Book, FedComm Epacks, Shapeways, and more.

Has it been discussed that rule 523.423 says it costs 24 XTPs to upgrade a SB(12) to SBX(12) yet the SITS I checked list it as a 36 cost?

Which is correct?

BTX costs listed in the same rule match the SITS I happened to check.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 - 11:20 am: Edit

The SITs are, the staff tells me, correct.

By Alan De Salvio (Alandwork) on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 - 11:54 am: Edit

Lar, technically the SIT says 36 (50% of which is XTP), so the SIT says 18 EP + 18 XTP. I believe the rule has been overruled by the SIT, since the SIT attempts to address all possible permutations.

By Chuck Strong (Raider) on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 - 07:18 pm: Edit

The SITs trump the rules. We normalized base cost when players were finding it was cheaper using one upgrade path over another.

When we update the rules, we will recommend to ADB that we remove specified cost listed within the rules to simply have the rules reference the SITs for cost info. (It is far easier to correct the online SITs than to correct the published rules.)

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 - 04:44 pm: Edit

Indeed, that is the plan.

Thanks Steve.

SBX(N): For SITs: Gorn, Tholian, Hydran. For “From STB(N): 48”, change cost to “58”. Converting STB(N) to SB(N) costs 22, and SB(N) to SBX(N) costs 36, therefore converting STB(N) to SBX(N) should cost 58 (22+36=58), as it does on most SITs. - Jeff Coutu, 23 March 2021

SBX(N): For SITs: Gorn, Tholian, Hydran. For “From BTX(N): 42”, change cost to “52”. Converting BTS(N) to STB(N) costs 6, and STB(N) to SBX(N) costs 58 (as indicated in the previous line item), so the total cost of converting from BTS(N) to SBX(N) should be 64 (58+6=64, not that you can make the conversion in one step). Since converting BTS(N) to BTX(N) costs 12, therefore converting BTX(N) to SBX(N) should cost 52 (64-12=52), as it does on most SITs. - Jeff Coutu, 23 March 2021

SBX(N): For SITs: Klingon, Romulan, Kzinti, Lyran, Vudar, Paravian, Carnivon. For “From STX(N): 20”, change cost to “40”. Converting BTX(N) to SBX(N) costs 52 (as indicated in the previous line item). Converting BTX(N) to STX(N) costs 12, therefore converting STX(N) to SBX(N) should cost 40 (i.e., 52-12=40), as it does on many SITs. - Jeff Coutu, 23 March 2021

SFX(N): For SITs: Gorn, Tholian. In the “Conversions Cost” column, in “From STX(N): 58” change cost to “68”. Converting STX(N) to SBX(N) costs 40 (as indicated in the previous line item), and converting SBX(N) to SFX(N) costs 28, therefore converting STX(N) to SFX(N) should cost 68 (40+28=68), as it does on most SITs. - Jeff Coutu, 23 March 2021

For SITs: Federation, Klingon, Kzinti. Change “STF” to “SFB” in all locations. Since Tactical Operations countersheets (Tango and Oscar) are using SFB for the stellar fortress base, the SITs should be changed. Possible Exceptions: There is one “STF” on the third from last row of the Federations SIT, and fourth from last row Kzinti SIT, that I do not know what it represents so not sure if it should be changed or not. - Jeff Coutu, 23 March 2021

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 - 06:34 am: Edit

Jeffrey: After Chuck approves those they will need to be repeated in each topic. I cannot make changes to multiple SITs from this topic.

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, June 08, 2021 - 04:02 pm: Edit

SIT General: LAS reference should be CL22. SAS reference should be CL22.

By Jeffrey Coutu (Jtc) on Thursday, July 22, 2021 - 10:18 am: Edit

Chuck Strong, if you have time could you look at my suggested SIT changes posted above (at Tuesday, March 23, 2021 - 05:31 am) and let me know if you agree with my suggestions or not?

I have found discrepancies between the various SITS for the values listed for the bases (or values that I think are in error) of which the above post is just some of them, and I would like to know if you agree with my above suggestions before posting more.

By Chuck Strong (Raider) on Thursday, July 22, 2021 - 05:36 pm: Edit

Jeff:

Is this an in-play request? If not, the priority for me and the staff is working on the Warbook project for the time being.

Thanks for understanding.

Chuck Strong, there is no rush.

By Lawrence Bergen (Lar) on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 - 04:18 pm: Edit

Odd thing I noticed that I thought I would call out as a possible typo.

ALL SITs: (probably a copy paste error)
PTR (cost to build 2 EPs) has listed a salvage amount of 0.0 (ZERO) EPs.
APT (cost to build 1.0 EPs) has a listed salvage amount of 0.2 EPs.

This seems odd to me and checking the rules in both sections (439) salvage and (539) special mission ships are silent on these specific units with regards to salvage. Are these salvage values both correct as is or is one of them in error?

Will the TO SITs be merged with the empires specific SITs?

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, December 07, 2021 - 12:54 am: Edit

Yes, but not this month.

By Riccardo Perni (P_R_S) on Tuesday, December 07, 2021 - 02:09 am: Edit

Thank you, I think I'll wait the merge before printing :)

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, December 07, 2021 - 03:03 am: Edit

That could be a year.

By Riccardo Perni (P_R_S) on Tuesday, December 07, 2021 - 04:24 am: Edit

ach! I think I Should study an emergency plan :)

(if you need some help for these kind of tasks just tell me)

By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, December 07, 2021 - 11:00 am: Edit

I have so many hours each month for each product line and all the F&E time since May went into CO, PO, TO, AO, SO, CW. Once that is done I will try to update one empire per month.
