K-2 CRIPPLED SIDE: APT has the Crippled bar running through the nomenclature: Suggest remove the bar entirely as APTs do not have a crippled side and the identifier should just read in big bold letters (as they are) APT.
J-2, J-3, J-4 CRIPPLED SIDE: Recommend increasing the size of the ADM nomenclature to match that of the DIP and APT. This will require the +1, 0, -1 numbers to be justified accordingly. And it will help aging eyes.
FEDS: See Sheet P&Q for ADM marker formatting.
M-12 CRIPPLED SIDE: MB SET UP - Suggest remove crippled bar as it is covering the word SET. The back side should say MB SET UP (center justified as it is).

I thought they were supposed to be yellow; I think the first ones should have been. I can change it, but they are a pain to do, as each has to be selected individually by hand. Tedious. Is it necessary?
FEDS: Yellow or white -- it's not critical -- getting the factors correct is.

I know that, Chuck, it was obviously an earlier mistake. The question now is do we correct it or live with it. You know how I hate changing published counters. I asked the staff to review the situation, not define it, and give me some thoughts on which way to go here.
By Chuck Strong (Raider) on Tuesday, July 02, 2024 - 05:28 am: Edit |
I recommend correcting the mistake. It's also goes against established precedence and creates an uber FCR that retains its main resupply mission when crippled.
Additionally, it's one thing to unknowingly make a mistake back then, but it's another thing to discover that it was an error and choose to not correct it now. I think it would be best to do the right thing and strive to continuously improve the product. Besides, it's only one counter on the sheet to correct that has not been published elsewhere.
Also, speaking as a player, I want to play with the correct counter factors that accurately reflect the published material.
By Steve Cole (Stevecole) on Tuesday, July 02, 2024 - 02:31 pm: Edit |
We just need to invent a way to fix the factors on counters already printed and in the hands of players.
In this case, I think I can agree to change it. In most cases where a ship is arguably one point off what it should be I would rather leave it alone, but this is a class-pattern situation.
By Lawrence Bergen (Lar) on Tuesday, July 02, 2024 - 03:51 pm: Edit |
In this particular case we have been lucky. The simple fix for this is a fine tip sharpie. Not ideal of course, and in many cases it would not work, but for this situation it’s truly how I (easily) fixed mine.
Going forward I agree we can look for a better way, especially as color schemes do not always allow for the simple fix (marker to correct). As staff, strive to use the most recent guidance and all resources available to improve the products making them the best and most accurate they can be.
Thank you for the solution.
