David, we are still working on it. As you no doubt know, D6's rights/licenses are somewhat in flux right now. We do still plan to put out a D6 product.

Thanks for the information.
I just wanted to hear if there was any news. So keep up all the good work.

Just wanted to see if we are any closer?

It is still in the "being written" stage.

Just thought I'd mention that there seems to be a lot of growing interest in this book. The subject has come up about 4 times in threads over on RPGnet since the premiere of the new film, and is an active topic over on the West End Games forums.

We are working on it; I am starting to get chapters. However, I am in the finishing stages of PD20M Klingons and the middle stages of PD Feds and those are taking priority as they are more "done".

I am glad there is a growing interest, which I already knew about. I'm the one who gets the emails saying "Dump D6 since it's dead and do the book I want" and I tell them that D6 is hardly dead and we will do the book, but we cannot write it ourselves. When the contracted writer writes it, we'll print. Like Jean said, she's starting to get parts of it, but it's not like the entire book has been finished for months just waiting for me to remember to tell somebody to print it. We cannot print what isn't finished, and it's the writer who has to do that part.

As I play d6, FC, and others, feel free to include me in ANY playtest thoughts you might have..even just "here is what I Have now."

After a long hiatus from these boards it's kinda' sad and happy all at once to see PD:D6 still in some level of development. Sad that it's almost been 5 years in the making, and happy that it is still moving forward (albeit at an "impulse power only" pace).
There are still plenty of folks in my gaming neck of the woods that would drop hard currency if/when SFG can get the game system revived. Like many others here I played D6 when it was SW:RPG 1st Edition. We loved 2nd Edition R&E, and everything after that did feel like a "bloat." (Read: WotC and DnD)
Anyhoo, thanks for not ejecting the warp core on this project. I'll pop back in about 6 months and see where you guys are.

Guys, over at the WEG discussion forum, the basic rulebooks are now OGL free downloads. If you want to learn the game, check out the link:

I hope this inspires some PD D6 fans.

Looks like pretty much all the d6 books.
Don't forget, I am open for playtesting!!

anything new on this?
By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Sunday, November 15, 2009 - 01:09 am: Edit |
Not until I finish Captain's Log. Then I have a chapter to read!
By Darren Kehrer (Kehrer1701) on Thursday, November 19, 2009 - 10:37 pm: Edit |
do you need anyone yet to provide another set of eyes??
By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Thursday, November 19, 2009 - 11:13 pm: Edit |
Darren, not yet. I have about 25 pages of the CL#40 Supplemental File to read before I can read that chapter. My writer is under the weather, so this gives him time to recover as well.
The first chapter will be sort of a feeling out of things anyway. He needs to know what I want and I need to know what the system wants.

Is a D6 book the next RPG book in the pipeline?
By Jean Sexton (Jsexton) on Friday, November 20, 2009 - 11:16 am: Edit |
I hope Feds is next. But for the "master" PD rulebooks, D6 may well be.
By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Friday, November 20, 2009 - 11:18 am: Edit |
Feds would be good, and then deny Loren baked goods until he finishes Tholians ;+)
By Loren Knight (Loren) on Friday, November 20, 2009 - 11:38 am: Edit |
I seem to be getting denied most things lately. (Not here but in life.)

Maybe you should be nicer to the wife.
By Shawn Hantke (Shantke) on Friday, November 20, 2009 - 03:49 pm: Edit |
Loren, I am just teasing. I know real often often inrudes in game life. With all of the hints dropped over time on the BBS it is just something I am looking forward to.
By A. David Merritt (Adm) on Friday, November 20, 2009 - 04:33 pm: Edit |
I second Shawns statement.
By Loren Knight (Loren) on Friday, November 20, 2009 - 05:14 pm: Edit |
I know you all were teasing.
I'm looking forward to holding PDT in my hands too. If pride be a sin, I shall need to confess that day.
