Star babes are called that not because they are gorgeous women but because they are babes lost in the woods.

Star babes are beautiful because it helps them get over the emotional shock of losing their biological bodies.

Star babes wear skimpy outfits not to be sexy, but because their synthetic skin is so much tougher than human skin that clothes aren’t actually necessary at all. Also, clothing suited for the rigors of space operations is expensive and wears out quickly, so no point in wearing more than the minimum. Gorgeous as they are, their brains came from normal people not accustomed to casual nudity.

So…. Nothing misogynistic here, move along.

I just want an AI that can be played against in a game.

The company doing STAR-BABES & STARSHIPS has twenty or so vids on YouTube, one of which includes this image which seems to be them experimenting with what their software can do.

This is a fun example of AI. It's a 3+ minute song showing Sydney Sweeney prancing around doing this or that. It's all AI, nothing real, the song is a hillarious poke at the woke crowd.

A definitely not-AI clip from the video

I liked seeing Ursula von der Leyen at 1:12. Hilarious.

That looks more like George Jones than Donald Trump.

 I just read this thread.

When experimenting with SFU game art, I've founding that avoiding any Trek terms (e.g. describe them like you would any other person, but include "pointy ears" or "elf ears" for a Vulcan and "green skin" for an Orion) actually gets me better results unless I really need the concept, since those tend to bring in peripheral elements I don't want.

With characters, human and close to human (Vulcan, Klingon) are pretty simple.

Most A.I. models grok "animal people" pretty well, so Tiger=Kzinti, Lynx=Lyran, Bird=Paravian, etc works cleanly.

I've yet to see a model handle a Tholian or Hydran well.

Gorn are the exception. With ChatGPT (uses DALL-E, I think), you've got to really nail it down (e.g. "a Gorn from Star Trek TOS "Arena" complete with the compound eyes") or you get generic lizard people, and I've not seen any other model handle a Gorn well yet.

Character clothing I either let it roll with generic scifi clothes or have to use and editing model and a reference image.

Most AI models really struggle with equipment even give outlines and reference images. I've never gotten a good SFU starship out of any model.

There are a number of models that handle "planet from orbit" decently, but it is very hard to keep them from defaulting to Earth's continents on an "M-class" planet or a recognizable Mars for a desert one. You have to gen a lot. It's quite a bit more polished than my manual workflow but I don't have the same control.

I'd show more examples but I don't want to overflow the post.

EDIT: Removed image links, they exceed the max size of -1 KB. Not sure what I did wrong.

Joshua, only moderators can post images. You can post the link to where you host the image (e.g., Photobucket, Imgur, etc). Don't link to anything NSFW or suffer the wrath of Jean aka Web Mom.

Thanks, Garth. I guess I ran a find on "image" on the formatting page when it should have been "link".

Here's the Gorn and the planet I intended to include in the last one:

Okay, the problem is that I was sent a high res version and the low-res BBS just makes it really really big. If I had photoshop on this computer, I would be able to make a smaller version. Let me try something.

That worked. I have an idiot simple photo-edit program and it was able to resize it for screen print.

Another AI Sydney Sweeney video. This one has a hilarious story about three old men breaking into her bathroom to steal her bathwater and the sheriff who caught them and tricked one of them into giving up the identity of the criminal mastermind behind the plot.

On AI art. I have a friend who teaches commercial art, and he tells his students; you may hate, you may love it, but you need to know about it or you will not be employed. (he, like me, was in school when Photoshop got big, so this dance isn't new to us). But one thing he mentioned, is that you're seeing more and more little videos on the internet, some terrible some good, many done with the kind of home system a dedicated gamer might have. So one of the questions he asked his students is: "What happens when high school or Jr. College groups can pull off the same kind of "special effects" that hollywood uses? What happens to hollywood--and the general market you're going into, when suddenly it is financially feasible to develop "Space Quest: the totally not Star Trek rip off" and do 20 episodes with good SFX for the cost of a few hundred thousand dollars compared to millions an episode?" (He feels it's a teachers job, especially in commercial fields, to hit students with questions like this, because they need to think about the work environment and how it may change between entering college and graduating.). I kinda thought it was an interesting question.

I watch a lot of WW2 stuff on YouTube and lately some of the 'story' vids (taken from diaries) have been illustrated by art that is clearly AI.
