TUG MISSION W: AN ECONOMIC POINT FROM THE BRINK
- Cadet David Walend, USS North Carolina
Then your rescue tug can swoop in and pluck the small ship back from the brink. This tactic costs you zero economic points, and keeps a small ship from waiting in line for repairs. You can even overkill to run up minus points and frustrate your enemy. If things do not go as planned, you can rescue a more important ship. This tactic might help after economic exhaustion sets in when an economic point saved is two economic points earned.
An example: To resolve 11 points of damage, self-kill a war cruiser and rescue it with the tug. You will have one crippled ship in the pursuit battle and a 1.5 economic point repair bill. If you resolved that same damage on a war cruiser and a frigate, you will offer two crippled ships in the pursuit battle and have a 2.5 economic point repair bill.
