Definitely a touch confused on damaging gunboats.

From 7.15b, a damage result on a gunboat (presumably from the Combat Table) causes 4 SFB damage points, reduces movement allowance by 2, and remove ...

I've bought both the Basic Set and R4 in e-book format, and will buy any other SSD books put up in the same format. So much more convenient...

And someone posted a replay of a game of Fed Space on Consimworld recently. I bought the game last year, and to be honest would be more likely to play it over F&E.

In any event, I happen to be ...

My "Not in Kansas" moment came in a solitaire test game of Klingon Armada. Picked a few ship classes for Fed and Klingon..

As pointed out, Klingon Agility doesn't really show up very wel ...

Always found the best way to learn/teach SFB was for a newby to stand over the shoulder of an experienced player --
Hearing/reading the rules not as good as seeing them in use -- -

I can teach SF ...

Part of the issue is that some tactics, like turtling, are defeatable but highly annoying to play against. There's a school of thought that says, "Just learn how to beat it, and your opponent wi ...

Ah, right... I'd forgotten the specifics of the 'stacking rule'.

I think the problem with moving rules from FC into SFB is that each group has rules they really like, and others they don't.. and ea ...

I might suggest three possible 'improvements' to SFB using FC rules (after playing with SFB 'as written'):

1. Moving in reverse costs double the normal cost.

2. The stacking limit of three ships ...

Counter was on the map. But we play with miniatures (my friend's a big minis guy) on a home made map. And I'm just not used to the combo. Plus the counter we used because I was too lazy to ...

From what I remember of how FC works, the ability to 'shift shield' boxes (I can't remember how many each turn) should be a boon in defending, assuming of course that Hellbores still do half their dam ...
