Back at Valentine's Day, SVC offered to name a ship for your spouse. I emailed him and got a WYN Advanced Technology Auxiliary Battlecruiser named for my wife, Evey. Unfortunately, there's not a miniature of the WYN ACX - so I set out to make one.
I started with a standard AxBC and stripped the engines, the engine struts, the sensor dish, and filed off all of the weapons. I then took the larger engines off of a factory seconds large ore carrier, fabricated a new engine strut form brass stock and pinned the larger engines to it. I filed a notch into the rear of the AxBc hull to accept the new strut and glued it into place. The impulse engine vent was carefully trimmed off the previously removed strut and glued to the new one. Addition weapon mounts were located as per the SSD and created out of 2-part epoxy. The final addition was a new sensor dish from the sensor sprue.
Then it was time to paint. I still need to order a set of WYN insignia and a custom name / number combo. But here's what the WDS Evey looks like:

Only problem is now I have to make another. My wife wants to put her christening certificate in a shadow box and then put the AXC miniature in there as well... and I need one to game with.
Although, I thinking of getting the shadowbox, measuring he depth and then scaling up the ACX to the largest size that will still fit in the box... _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I left that vague, so I could compliment both your fine lady and your fine mini. Both do you credit, Sir. _________________
