Is GURPS prime directive a one or multi player game, or both? I'm considering getting it and want to know how many people you need. |

Prime Directive (all flavors; GURPS, D20, etc.) is a role-playing game (RPG), like Dungeons & Dragons, Traveller, etc.
You need one person to run the adventure (the Dungeon Master in D&D) for other people. Having only one player other than the game master really wouldn't work. The point of RPG's is to adventure with a group.
There is no "normal" size for a play group, but it typically is at least three people besides the GM.
All that said, the PD books are nice to have, even if it is just as a reference tome. They do more to describe the background of the SFU than anything else in-print. _________________

To expand on Will's comments just a bit... while 3 or 4 players and a GM are best - I have ran game sessions for a single player. They take a bit more work to plan and run, but they can be done. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

To make that work, you'll need a GM as willing to work to entertain you as Tony must be! _________________

Actually, Will... I am helping with the creation of the Prime Directive D20 Modern rulebook and when it comes out, I intend to start what (in my opinion at least) will be the greatest SFU adventure ever conceived...
I'll post updates on it as it progresses. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro
