OK, I admit - It was a really bad pun, but then again - is there any such thing as a good pun?
I have just finished the first 7 of my WYN ships. [Well, they still need the WYN national symbol decals added, but those will happen soon].
I still have several more that will be finished soon. A Kzinti FF, a Lyran FF, a Klingon E4 and F5, 2 or 3 more AxC's, a large Auxillary, and some misc Orions that have been leased to the WYN.
Photos of those will be added when they are complete. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

[pun-mode=ON] That is a Great White Fleet [pun-mode=OFF]
I like 'em. I think when I do mine I'm going to hit them with a heavy wash though. The white hides a lot of the details. _________________

I did the first with a wash, but if only muddied the finish - so it got dipped and redone.
You are correct about the detail being washed out, but it's only washed out in the photos. But this time I used an off-white rather than the titanium white I use on my Feds, and the actual minis are quite nice. You just need o jump on one of those Boeing's that were just manufactured and fly to TN to see them in person. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I might have to see them at Origins.
Sadly, no Boeing airplanes have been manufactured for 40 days, as my friends in the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers are out pounding the pavement on strike. No mechanics, no airplanes. _________________

I was going to try outdoor photos in natural sunlight today to see if the lack of a flash might not provide a better detail resolution - but alas, 80% chance of thunderstorms... _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Well, you should try getting a day that isn't overcast anywhere near Wales (Bath being "near Wales" enough to suffer from this)... |

Nice job on those. It's also nice to see the new Monitor out and painted up. _________________ O.G. OPTIMUS

Thanks. I have 4 more monitors primed and ready to go. I'm thinking Federation / Klingon / Hydran and either Kzinti or Lyran... not sure which yet. I have a couple dozen Kzinti to paint and the correct colors will be on the palette, but a Lyran monitor with a really good cat pattern is just as tempting.
Of course, I could follow SVC's suggestion and just buy another then paint both Lyran and Kzinti versions. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Sounds like sensible advice to me. You know what it's like, you won't be happy until you've done one of each (Lyran/Kzinti) colour scheme, so for the sake of the price of a miniature, it's worth it. |

Actually - I won't be happy until I have one of EACH!
Fed / Klink / Rom / Kzin / Gorn / Tholina / Orion / Hydran / Lyran / WYN / ISC / LDR / etc...
But there is a practical limit to the amount of lead that be collected in one location before a special permit from the EPA is required...
And accordinfg to my wife, I'm nearing that point! _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

You obviously haven't met my wife
Would you like to attempt to explain the difference between a lead miniature and a pewter miniature to her?
And beyond that, most of the minis I have are indeed the older, lead ones...
I already have (at the request of the R'Ford County Vol. Fire Dept.) a HazMat placard on my garage wall to alert firefighters of the potential hazrds should a fire break out.
I really don't want to have my property classified as a Superfund site! _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Dang, Scoutdad just beat me for the most smileys placed in a post without overtly putting them there for that exact reason. (You'll still never beat me with parentheses though.) |

Heh. You should see a good old fashioned John Erwin Hacker post on the legacy board. If SVC charged by the smiley, he'd be a rich man. _________________
