Could someone point me to a picture of the Juggernaut model? Sees like I read in a Captain's Log that there were two: a resin model and a (IIRC)pewter model. I looked on the miniatures page in the webstore, but couldn't find it

This is the one of the two resin Juggy "mini" in-play:

Here it is prior to paint:

I don't recall if this is the larger one or the smaller of the two (I've never seen the other in-person). I do know the other one had a broader "head".

Availability questions I can't answer.

Will, that one looks like the smaller of the two, but I'm not 100 percent certian.

Both versions were produced in Resin. I have one of the smaller ones. Unfortunately they sold out of the large ones before I scrounged up the 80$ needed to buy one - although, if anyone has one they want to get rid of..... Wink

I am currently working on a master model of a new, even smaller one that Steve can have cast in pewter. I've had a couple of set backs with it that resulting in having to start completely over, then I took a break to finish he Hydran Pegasus model which is now nearly complete, so it's back to work on the Jugger.
For reference, my version (when complete) will be about 3 to 3 1/4-inches long and about 1 7/8 inches wide.
I'll upload photos f it this weekend so everyone can see it.

The two guys who made the juggy models aren't making more. We want them to but for various reasons they're not able to.

Makes me all the happier to have mine. It's a really nicely done "garage" resin-kit and it works well as a playing piece.

I think it's the smaller one, but I've not seen both in person.

Newbie here.

Just wondering...what is this Juggernaut? What race made it? What's the story behind it? Just wondering. Seen it on the cover of Captain's Log.

The Juggernaut (Alpha) made it's first appearance in Captain's Log #1.

It's a massive (think kilometeres long) ship of extra-galactic origin. No one knows who made it (or why). It's seeks opponents worthy of it's skill and is incredibly hard to kill. Armed with Phaser-4's and armor plated... it's only weakness is it's unprotected rear... but it has a 100-point rotating shield that can cover that angle. The key to defeating it is to do enough damage to one arc to exceed the damage threshold, causing the rotating shield to snap to that facing while simultaneously having the ability to fire enough weaponry from other ship(s) into it's now unprotected #4 arc...

Juggernaut Alpha was finally defeated by the combined weaponry of a Federation Cruiser, a Klingon D7C, A Tholain Cruiser, nad an Orion Pirate Cruiser.

Then, Juggernaut (Beta) appeared in CL #32 and fought an entire Federation fleet. That's when we learned that the Juggers communicated and that Beta had learned from Alpha's battles and had developed new weaponry to counteract the abilities of the races it [Alpha] had already encountered... let's just hope there isn't a Gamma on the way.

Any idea when a pewter miniature for this will be released?

Some of us out here want to grab one for $20. (Like the Doomsday Machine figure)

You replied to the right post, as scoutdad is the guy sculpting the new metal Juggy master.

I envy you guys that can sculpt minis. I'm doing good to get one put together and painted to look decent!

I promised SVC one that could be cast with a deadline of January... unfortunately, we are now on the 4th take... but I think I've resolved all the issues and this one is coming along nicely. I expect to have it done and ready to ship to Steve by the time he returns from Austin.

As for juggy's 1, 2, and 3... I can now do a really great "Battle Damage" vignette. Wink

You know what would be cool?

Once you get the Juggy done, could you write a small article (or long post) on what you did to make it? Don't go into too much detail. Don't give away any "secrets". But an overview would be cool to read.

What materials did you use? How did you start the build? I know the Juggy has some seriously fiddly (and narrow) bits. How did you manage that structurally? And what did you do wrong (or what went wrong) on the first three attempts?

I don't want you to send too long writing it. (That would be a drag.) But I do think such an article would be interesting.

Actually, that's not a bad idea.
SVC now has plenty of places to utilize something like that.
Mins articles don't make it into CLs any longer, but there's always the CL supplements, the blogs, web-articles, etc...

I'll see what I can get together.
