Have there been any releases for Tugs and Battletugs for FC? |

Recent Communiques have the Fed Tug and a couple LTTs. One of the most recent Captain's Logs (I forget which) has four LTTs, too.
No battletugs. There is currently some serious doubt as to whether battletugs will make it into FC. Right now, tugs (and LTTs) just carry cargo pods.
[Edit: Also, this is not a rules question. I have moved it to General.] _________________

Correct. FC tugs/LTTs are cargo only. No battletugs in FC. EVER. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

If anything comes up that contradicts your statements, we will simply assume that the board software mangled your original posts and that current realities were what you really meant. _________________ NOLI UMQUAM VIM TURBARUM STULTORUM DEPRETIARE.

Battletug in FC! Oh, boy! Now we'll get to play the famous Fed-Gorn battle that almost happened! |

no battletugs (please ) but for those who want them enjoy what may come. as for SVC's comment that must have been the anti-SVC. _________________ fun fun fun in the sun sun sun |

The reason there won't be battletugs is because there will be carrier tugs instead.
For all the races. |

personnelly this is one of thoses things from SFB that always bugged me. if battletugs or carriertugs or any other combat version of a tug is equal to or much better than the true warship then why spend the funds for carriers and battleships or cruisers when tugs would be just as good at a cheaper price. tugs are tugs ,they are not for combat which is why i have been against there inclusion. that said i have no objection to them in Communique or BoM. _________________ fun fun fun in the sun sun sun |

So can I hope to see the B10T super-heavy tug with battle pods? _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

Two points about battle tugs.
1. I thought they pre-dated any dreadnoughts in SFB (at least, the early Commander's Edition that I used).
2. They were not supposed to be permanent ships on duty. The battle pod(s) were kept at some starbases in mothballs only to be hard-attached to a tug when an admiral needed a ship with those heavy weapons in a fleet he was commanding. Even then, the attachment process would have to take awhile to complete.
This is why I have problems with Federation Commander's theme of "no history." Some things are just easier to explain with some history behind them.
Perhaps BoM? |

Like Mike said. From everything I have been able to gather on Battle Pods and Carrier Pods they are not intended to make a Tug the equal of a Dreadnaught or a Heavy Carrier. They are intended to be used when things go really really bad. Like when the Klingons wreck one of your CVAs and then your accidentally drop another one in to the atmosphere of Romulus and it goes boom.
Original I was very much anti Battle Tug but the more I think about it the more I reallies.... what the heck... everyone got a Battleship after all.
But before/if we see a Battle Tug could we please see Tugs with Self Defence Pods. _________________ -Dal

Yeah, I dont mind the history part. I do like the Middle Years ideas, and look forward to other "Era" books. They simplify it: just grab the card for the era and you are set. No extra boxes that are not used cluttering. Keep the rules changes simple.
I havent bought briefing 1 yet, but I am trying out the CA from Communique 41. Dont want to get an enemy behind that ship!!!! LOL |
