Just a clarification, is directed fire applied to burn through. Looking at the sequence I would say it is. (soz storeylf after a re-read I think you’re right).

I'll paraphrase another answer on the tpoic:

The burn-through damage does get treated with directed targeting. So you'll have a higher chance of hitting what you want. It's a good way to strip some phasers or power off a ship at long(er) range.

This question comes up quite often (just do a search for directed and burn or burnthrough). It might be good to put a note in the next revision of the rulebook, or post it in a communique in the Q&A section.

Yes... it is applied to burn through.
