Lurking in asteroid fields, crunching rocks with their large claws, and eating the tasty minerals found inside.
I give you the Space Crawfish.
Since their hard shells are made up of the same substance as an asteroid, the Space Crawfish are hard to identify even with sensor scans.
A Federation Destoyer returning to Starbase after a border patrol is ambushed by a Space Crawfish. The Space Crawfish prefers that metals that make up the ship's hull over the minerals of the asteroids.
Luckily, two other Federation Starships are in the sector and come to the Destroyer's aid. After 8 overloaded photons, the Space Crawfish is no more.
I think this would be a cool monster to add to the ranks of the Space Manta and the others. I made up a Ship card for the Space Crawfish if SVC would like to see it. |

Imagine the havoc this creature would rain down upon some unsuspecting Jindarian caravan. _________________

Email it to Steve as a submission. Do try to work out its rules, though. For example, its movement, damage, and such. Even better, make the rules so that it doesn't require a player. _________________

Now we just need to find a water-ice comet nucleus, and phaser it to boiling point... _________________ We are Hydrans! NO ONE LIKES US! |

They used to have the GTS trade show at the Orleans, and Monday was seafood night at the buffet. They had fifty gallon buckets of crawfish all over the place, and I'd pass tables with mountains of empty shells. I could never get anybody to explain to me what part of the thing to eat, or how to eat it. I tried to take one apart and figure it out, but still wasn't sure which parts were edible. I finally just stuck with the snow crab legs. One year, I quit at 50 snow crab legs. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander
