Dear SVC and Friends,
My day job as a Philippine Diplomat entails business promotion for the country. One line of possible business is the production of SFU uniforms, caps, pins, medals, etc. in the country, with high quality and lower cost. Of course, China, Taiwan, and other countries may also offer attractive terms, but usually one needs to order in very high amounts, not so in Manila. Uniforms can be done on a bespoke basis.
I know that "outsourcing" is a sore issue - but do remember the Philippines was declared (and still is) to be a "Major non-NATO US Ally" by President GW Bush. The envisioned manufacturers are the firms contracted by the Philippine Military for its paraphernalia.
Would there be interest from ADB in this ?
Thanks,
Gary |

Such things don't sell. We've spend tons of bucks before manufacturing this stuff and nobody buys it, so a good source for stuff that doesn't sell isn't that interesting. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

I see that cafepress.com advertises on this site that they sell unique Federation Commander products.
What permission do they have to use Federation Commander Logos, race symbols and such?
I saw the ornaments they sell with a few of the race symbols. I would like buttons and hats with the race symbols, or stickers with the race symbols. |

Dear SVC,
Ok, I can understand the reluctance to venture into such merchandising. Let me ask the proposition another way - can one obtain a license from ADB to produce SFB paraphernalia such as caps, pins, insignia, etc. ?
Thanks !

Several times, SVC has stated, if someone puts up the money for something, he would make the effort to sell it -- |

I wonder if there have ever been any takers on that offer... _________________ Mike

We do have a store on Cafe Press. If you are seeing logos and art from some other storefront, please contact SVC by email so we can deal with the issue.
Thanks for your care and concern for our intellectual property.

We cannot license others to use the property of Paramount.
If you want to do some kind of deal where you produce a thousand T-shirts and send them to us and we sell them and send you the money minus our commission, we can talk, but I already know that stuff won't sell and I'll just end up paying storage for it, and that sounds like a really bad idea for both of us. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander
