But part of the point is that not all FC players might want the BoM rules. Which is just as well they will be optional.
There's not a lot any player can do to force anything. If SVC and SPP refuse a change to SFB, it's not going to happen. However, if the door is open for a certain topic to be considered, why not look to some of the things FC does well for consideration?
It's not like I'm looking at, say, Klingon Armada for inspiration here. (Not to belittle that game, just to say that its mechanics are incompatible with the SFB/FC dynamic.)
Personally, one other change I'd like to see in SFB (after the superstack abolition) would be the addition of FC's double reverse movement. Unless you fly a Sigvirion-like flying saucer, by and large your ship and its engines are oriented to the front, not the front and the back.
But then, that's probably an argument for another day... _________________ FC Omega Discussion (v3)

Hmmm, so much for love for the ISC!
Drifted a bit OT, haven't we?
Repeat signal - are there any formal rules for Echelon formations in FC? _________________ We are Hydrans! NO ONE LIKES US! |

Dan, AFAIK there are no formal rules for echelon formations in FC. Just as there are no formal rules for echelon formations in SFB. The ships are designed to use echelons, although with the more limited firing opportunities in FC I think it would be tough to make the rear-firing plasmas work properly. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue

Thanks for all the fish, guys, but the W&P rulebook goes to press in about 4 hours. If anybody has anything else to say, posting it here won't work as I won't be back until tomorrow. Email me (design@starfleetgames.com) and I'll deal with it. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

I don't have War and Peace, yet, but I am curious is there a description of the ISC race? Or is it a conglomeration of other races? |

In my game vs Eric Phillips, I'm finding the ISC rear plasmas more viable than I thought. Seem like a good keep-away-from-me thing while you're running away. _________________ "Captain" Terry O'Carroll, fourteen papers published including six best of issue
