Way to go, Garth!
Not to mention the "unofficial" medal he deserves for his excellent explanation of why a certain future universe does not have a certain well known captain or crew... _________________ Mike

Jean / SVC: Thanks, I appreciate it. Real life has taken so much of my time over the past year or more, I feel like I haven’t really done enough proofreading to earn those awards.
You know, if there’s one thing that I did that makes me the proudest, it was a “project” that lasted several months back in the late 1990s. The official “web site” back then was on Genie, but many players were posting comments and questions on the User-Group / News-Group “rec.board.games”. I saw some stuff that I knew wasn’t true but didn’t know the official answer, so I e-mail SVC. He sent me back a reply and gave me permission to post it. This started a routine where I’d send him questions and post his answers back. Soon, SVC discovered that he could read the User-Group but not post to it, so he’d send his answers and replies to me to post. This went on for months, at a time when Genie was dying out, and for a while I felt like I was the last drop of glue keeping ADB in touch with the player base. For me, it was just a hobby, but for ADB, it was their livelihood. I often wonder, if I hadn’t done that, would ADB folded and SFB gone out of print? I often wonder if Leanna curses my name -- “If that so-&-so hadn’t kept Steve’s interest alive, he could have gone back to being an engineer and made a ton of money!”
Mike, thanks for the plug. _________________ Garth L. Getgen |

Nah, we wouldn't have folded, but it would have been harder to get back in touch. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

Thank you, thank you.
I can also be found annoying people about things LMC and M33, too. Um, hooray? _________________ FC Omega Conversion Project:

Good work, Gary.
(You should be very proud of that coveted Target award as well.) _________________
