Fair warning to those seeing this for hte first time. After a more careful look at the karger images on the mongoose site, I think this may be a prototype of the first design posted.
It has the ventilated rib detailing on the neck, the ribbing on the foredeck in front of the deckhouse, etc.
But it's still cool to see it in real life as opposed to a digital image. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

too bad that design didn't win out it was nice to see a modernized version of our favorite ships, but the old fogies won again |

The old fogies had to keep the ship within the license so we could keep producing our games! _________________ Business Manager/RPG Line Editor

It was NOT old foggies. It was LAWYERS. The design you guys are looking at (D7 model #1) was NOT LEGAL to produce. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

Sorry if this has been covered somewhere else, but has cost of each mini been determined yet?
Looks pretty damn good (despite the greebles on the front of the command pod/boom ) and I'll definitely be getting at least one.
Of each.
Not to get ahead of things, but man...just imagine the possibilities with all the variants. D6D, D6M, D7D...then D5s, F5s...
I hope minor differences for KRs are possible, especially plasma torpedo Kestrel pattern on the bottom of the hull? Maybe decals would still be easier...
Just trying to picture how big the C8 and B10 would be if these were kept to scale.
Thanks for the links to the pics! _________________ Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But then I repeat myself.-- Mark Twain |

Not arguing here just curious about the C7. The C7 bares a striking resemblance to another Klingon ship, it even has the top grills. Is this ok because it is not a ship already scene in the source material and a sfb original? |

My take on the Hull Grilling is your are close to correct when you say the fuss over it was more because it was a radical change from TOS D Hull seen in the series. Now the C7 has it yes it is also a much later built war design that really packed in the Power Plants in like they were Sardines. Also the C7 has several other major point of difference form other Klingon designs things like the Command Boom is different, the Rear Deck house is different (straight front not curved) and the Center Warp Engine to name a few.
I actually hope we will see a return of the Hull Grill-work in the FD7, FD5, D5W, D7W, DX, and even the F5W or FX when they finally come out. Just it doesn't sit right with me on a D6 or D7. _________________ -Dal
