Concerning the Kestrals, I think I read somewhere that the romulans gt some D4s and F4s. Is that true? |

Yeah, but they were sold pretty quickly to a couple of the major houses for local defense. _________________ NOLI UMQUAM VIM TURBARUM STULTORUM DEPRETIARE.

Also just pointing out those 45 are just the Kestrals that start out in the Romulan OOB right. Usually the klingons give or sell crippled ships to the Romulans to repair instead of spending thier own currancy to fix them. As far as maintaining those ship the romulans and klingons were blockade running spare parts during most of the war.
And there were enough kestrals still in service during the Andro Wars that the Feds paid the Klingons to build more Kestrals as Gary pointed out. So they are more than just a footnote.
Note: We know more ships were built than the production schedual shows because of the infamous Gorn Carrier Class history and its fallout. _________________ -Dal

What is the fallout from the gorn carrier class history Dal?
The history establishes only 3 D7's and 3 D7C's ever (possibly a 4th D7). So maybe a lot more frigates and destroyers but I can't find any reference to any others. |

If I remember all of this correctly. SVC wrote a Class History of Gorn Carriers for a Captain Log. The only thing was it listed more carriers built than the Historical OOB had listed. Some F&E players set about immediately trying to update the Gorn Build Schedule to account for these new hulls. SVC never intended for those other ships to be in F&E they were simply ships that were built but never sent to the front lines. (Sorta like Garrison Units in the US during WW2 or the current Gulf Wars, Not everyone went to the Front) They did internal security, Show the Flag Tours as well as Anti Piracy Duty and Anti Monster Duty in addition to what the Combat Fleets were forced to deal with. _________________ -Dal

Thanks Dal.
Just looked on the ship name list and found this nugget,
Light Cruisers
KDR: Treachery, Deceit, Exchange.
KDA Escort: None were converted from KDRs.
KWR New Heavy Cruisers: Treachery (from KDR), Exchange (from KDR).
KWS New Scout Cruiser: Deceit (from KDR).
So it looks like two of the KDR's survived long enough to be Upgraded. |

Whoops! My bad. It appears that the KDRs were converted to KWRs after all. (Well, two KWR and one KWS.) Sorry about that. _________________

No need to apologize Mike, I appreciate the help in tracking down these ships. |
