Just in case anybody thought I had died or something, I'm still breathing.
I took a year off from the SFU, for a number of reasons. I'm back now, in a limited capacity. I'm also getting the dust off my workbench (literally) and hoping to re-start a lot of the projects shown up-thread.
I just did art for a custom set of decals for my CVA kitbash. I'm hoping to get that mini painted and detailed sometime in the next month or so.

Welcome back, Will.
It's good to see another miniature afficianado with a presence here on the board.
The decals look good, too.
Question: What font do you use for the text? _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

Thanks for the welcome-back, guys. I missed a lot of this.
Regarding the font, I have a couple of different ones for the old "Air Force" font they used on tv. They each look better at different kerning spacing, etc. The one I use the most is called "Air Force" - I don't recall where I got it, but Google will be your friend. I *think* it might have been part of a licensed font pack from 'Lil Bits that I bought in the mid 90's.
The other good one is a free one called "Airborne" that Charles Casmiro made and shares on his website:
http://home.earthlink.net/~casimiro/airborne.html
One more bit of fun:
I threw the art for a new freighter decal set onto a crappy space background, just for grins 'n giggles. _________________

Will, the Griswolds will travel packed by my hand on Her Pirate Majesty's Ship Parrot with Her Pirate Majesty in command. Eventually we will land in Texas and blind them all with our brilliance!

The last couple of orders I made with the ADB were delivered by the Orions in record time! And cheap too! The only catch was that the Orions asked me to deliver some odd package in return. Small price to pay. And I keep seeing green skinned men out of the corner of my eye now and then Oh well. |

leathernsteel - From what I've seen, I gather that you play guitar in a band? Metal? What style? _________________

Good to see you back Will. Pretty sure those pesky Orion Traders have (failed to) deliver some of my wife's e-bay purchases! _________________ Nothing is quite as persuasive as a disruptor pistol on slow burn and a rotisserie...... |

What style? | I play bass in a traditional style metal band along the lines of Iron Maiden/Judas Priest. I've been throwing the idea out of writing some SFU themed songs or at least composing some classical/movie style music to use when playing the game. Those are just ideas right now though, we've got a ton of other things being worked on, plus I'm trying to get an Orlando Battlegroup going. I need to work out a deal with one of the Orion Pirate cartels to help handle logistics and maybe carry our show to the Klingons! |
