|
|
Over on the BBS, SVC wrote: In the 2400s, we use the same minis for the BC as we do for the CS-CM, and we use the same mini for the CL as we do for the HDD.
I'd like to consider the idea that the HDD, CS, and CM be "different" and more modern even if that violates the holy precept of existing artwork.
The first idea I had was to make their bubbles octagons. Anybody else have an idea?

I don't fancy the idea of octagonal bubbles! However, the "war construction" heritage of these ships could be shown by changes to the pylon (simpler to allow for quick construction) and wings. _________________ Nothing is quite as persuasive as a disruptor pistol on slow burn and a rotisserie...... |

Just to help discussion, here is the drawing I posted to the bbs with the concepts I am pondering (note that these are just my personal musings, not anything from ADB):

The thicker, rounder bubbles look like an idea for early ships not as advanced as the general war types. I do like the banding concept, especially if the edges are made vertical to echo the BDX we've seen. |

The banding seems to have some other fans too. Of the three, I've put up, it's probably the best-looking. I wanted the narrower/taller bubble idea to work, but it just doesn't looks sleek, once drafted. _________________

I told Sandrine to use the banding. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

Using different types of bubbles on different types (FF, DD and so on) might not be a bad idea. |
