Klingon of Gor --
I don't know, I think Doc Brown made a great Klingon. He just didn't realize that when he got a hold of Genesis, he'd need 1.21 gigawatts from his warp drive to power the thing. _________________ Damn, these dice are cold! |

Kruge was the very first Klingon in a star trek film with any dialogue. All he had to go on was the original series and he was originally going to be a Romulan. I think this may have affected... Wait...effected his potrayal a bit. Just watched it yesterday though and have to say I thought he made a good villain. |

i thought he did as well. as for st V, that scene is about the only redeeming thing in that mess. yes all the effects were piece meal in that film. ST V is the "rock bottom" of the slide begun with ST III. _________________ fun fun fun in the sun sun sun |

I remember when all we had were syndicated reruns of TOS, usually late at night. The fans were hungry, and the early movies were an oasis in a vast non-Trek desert. So at the time they were the COOLEST thing!! Looking back I have to wonder -- what were we thinking? Come to think of it, I have the same reflective remorse about Space 1999. _________________ Damn, these dice are cold! |

New vote for worst Klingon every:
Commander Kh'rtis
Not only did he allow a Hydran to travel 820 miles to/from Columbus, OH.... he actually treats him like family!!! _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

I had never heard that the villian in III was supposed to be a Romulan, though I suppose that would explain the "Bird of Prey" and its cloaking device. Learn something new every day.
It could be argued that I'm making Kruge the whipping boy for a lot of issues I have with the direction the franchise took, but the character seemed such a comedown from his predecessors. Admittedly I haven't seen all of the TNG episodes, and maybe if I had I would revise my estimate. I didn't really give a lot of consideration to V, but then I have erased as much of that atrocity from my memory as possible. _________________ "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away" - Philip K Dick |

The story I keep hearing is that the original plan for III was to use Romulans as the villians (hence the BoP and cloaking device), but someone leakedthat info to the public early.
This caused the producers to quickly change everything to Klingons, but the minis had already been constructed and several effects shots completed. so rather than redo everything, they just put the Klingons in a bird of prey.
I wasn't there and do not know how much of this is truth and how much is speculation, but it sounds like something that those guys would do.

When you look at the boom design of the BoP in stIII, it feels more klingon. However could this design element have been in response to the use of KDR's in some of the later romulan encounters in TOS. I still love the BoP as a class its elegant. |

Regarding Commander Kh'rtis
He may look a tad cross-eyed, but he does a great job of flying a shuttle! _________________ Business Manager/RPG Line Editor

At least my Hydran doesn't try to do a Gorn Anchor with my vehicle on a utility truck while I am at Origins. _________________ Mike Curtis, FEAR, Copyright 2014 ADB, Inc.

Also, that is a special Klingon tactic to throw your enemy off balance before you kill them. It is called "The Stink Eye". _________________ Mike Curtis, FEAR, Copyright 2014 ADB, Inc.

Not only did I hear Romulan, but I've been told that the captain was going to be Spock's "friend" the female commander that Kirk stole the cloaking device from. _________________ Garth L. Getgen

I hadn't heard that one about the female Romulan commander but that would have been kinda awesome. |

archon 96: that is actually a true store. i went to school with the son of one of the producers of that film. turns out he was the one that insisted on making the change because he was pissed that the secert of which bad guys were in this movie was leaked. _________________ fun fun fun in the sun sun sun |
