Step one:
Drill a hole in the hull where the lower beak goes.
Epoxy steel pin into hole.
Mix epoxy putty and form to shape.
(keep a cup of water handy. If you wet your tools and fingers, the green stuff will not stick to them)
Using water and sculpting tools, create the desired shape.
Allow to cure.
Step Two:
Drill a hole in the hull where the upper beak goes.
Epoxy steel pin into hole.
Mix epoxy putty and form to shape.
Again, using water ... create the desired final shape.
Allow to cure.
Step three:
Sand to final shape.
Seal, prime, paint, launch at pigs.... _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro

There there it's really not nice to call the fed ships pigs, just because they are big, wallowing, and look like the should be staying in the mud.

Tony, thanks. I didn't know you could use water to handle the putty easier...I use the Squadron Green + white putties and they are pretty darn sticky. |

I use the Squadron putties for filling, but if I'm sculpting somehting like this - It has to be a two part epoxy.... Kneadatite, green stuff, milliput, etc.
I haven't tried the Procreate brand yet, but I've heard good things. My latest roll of green stuff is almost gone and the local RC hobby shop has just picked up the line. I intend to graba tube of that and give it a whirl next. Look for an upcoming commentary. _________________ Commander, Battlegroup Murfreesboro
