In Orion Attack, rule section 5L1 gives the latest word on Optional weapons mounts. One of the asteisks says that a PPD may be used where a PL-S could be used. Where a potential PL-S is given an FP arc, I'm guessing a substitute PPD would have an FA arc? We have a player who would play an Orion with a PPD every time if we let him so the more we get in writing, the better. _________________ Damn, these dice are cold! |

The rule means that the PPD can fit where a Pl-S fits, not that it has all of its properties. So, yes a PPD would only have an FA arc.
And don't forget at a Pl-S or PPD will take up two boxes, not just one. _________________

The ship card list FA as the default arc and since no where is an exception noted a PPD would take up 2 adjacent center line FA option mounts and have a firing arc of FA.
