925 is the offical card published after Comm 7. Treat it as correct unless MJW over rides it but I don't think he will. _________________ -Dal

Monty, C7 is the Communique, for lack of a better word, Playtest Card. As was previously stated the offical published card is 925. The last published card 925, which in this case is assumed correct. Nothiing here changes that. _________________ -Dal

Dal -- Thanks. You are very likely correct. There is likely an old error in the Master Ship Chart that needs to be corrected.
Mike West -- Can you give us a quick confirm on the Squadron Scale 122 point value in the Master Ship Chart being in error for the Gorn CLE. I expect it is (and the Booster 92 card is correct at 142 points for Squadron Scale), but I would like to double check before I make Monty change his online tournament squadron.
Monty -- Please start reworking the ship selections for your tournament squadron as it is very likely you're going to need to make a change since a 142 point CLE will put you over your spending limit. _________________ Jim Dauphinais, Chesterfield, MO

Yeah, the correct Point Value for the squadron scale Gorn CLE is 142. The MSC listing is probably a copy error along the way. _________________

I'm sure there's something obvious I'm missing, but what makes this ship so expensive? Since Plasma D's can't be bolted in Defense Mode in FC, and Defensive Fire Phase does not call out usage of Plasma D's in Defensive Mode, (4J5e explicitly prohibits it) it really limits the Aegis capabilities of a plasma D armed escort ship. It's like the two systems are disjoined.
The whole idea of Aegis is to enable opportunity in the Defensive Fire Phase to support other ships with defensive fire. The to-hit chart of a bolted D seems to align with the intent of an ADD.
In SFB the D's could be bolted in Offensive or Defensive mode, did something get lost in the conversion? It appears Aegis applies only to the limited phaser suite on plasma ships whereas drone empires get benefit applied to ADD's and phasers in Defensive Fire Mode.
I am not complaining about the way the rules have been distilled to FC, I'm more interested in the justification of the high cost. Is that an SFB cost?

I have updated the MSC on my hard disk. I need to upload the new CL45 one, but the file crashed and burned, and I'm back to the CL44 one and just haven't had a whole day to do the whole update over again. I kinda figured I'd wait and do the update for ReAtk. _________________ The Guy Who Designed Fed Commander

Pl-Ds do have an offensive and defensive mode in Federation Commander, but both modes operate during the Offensive Fire phase. Potentially confusing, sure, but both modes are in Federation Commander.
I did originally argue that Pl-D should fire in the Defensive Fire phase (especially in light of how the ISC defensive Pl-F work), but that idea and rationale were rejected.

Heh. I would.
Anyway, yes, it is primarily based on the SFB cost. I am not sure why this particular ship has that cost (in SFB), but it does. _________________

If I understand this correctly, the ADD from a G rack can fire in Defensive Fire mode but the Defensive Mode of a Plasma D cannot, plus I have to pay energy to use it in any mode. Though it's fitted to Aegis ships, it gets no benefits from the Aegis software. At 142 it seems to be a white elephant, at 122 it was probably valued about right.
Well, I guess I am sorta complaining.
Thanks for helping clarify.
